This file is divided into three sections: General Information - Read for all network operating systems Known Compatibility Issues Frequently Asked Questions Important General Information 1. Duplex Operation The networks drivers support full-duplex operation (that is, sending and receiving data simultaneously). WARNING: You MUST be connected to a switched full-duplex Ethernet hub to use this feature To enable this feature, see the user guide. 2. Make sure to use the latest BIOS available for your PC. Contact the PC manufacturer for more information. 3. Close down the PC Card Diagnostics before removing the PC Card, rebooting the PC, or shutting down the PC. 4. To install the NDIS 3 Real Mode and Enhanced mode drivers for Windows for Workgroups, follow the instructions in the WFWNDIS.TXT file. 5. You do not need to disable PC Card support for Windows NT 4.0 as described on pages 3-8 and 4-8 of the user guide. Known Compatibility Issues 1. Because the Panasonic CF-62 PC does not support CardBus, the 3C575-TX PC Card will not work on this PC. 2. Do not use the bottom CardBus slot with the TI600CD PCs. 3. As of this printing, IBM does not support the 3C575-TX PC Card in these docking station CardBus slots: IBM ThinkPad Dock I IBM ThinkPad Dock II IBM ThinkPad Selectra Dock I IBM ThinkPad Selectra Dock II Contact IBM for more information. 4. TI900 PC and OSR2 Disable BIOS Legacy if you are using OSR2 and a TI900 PC. To disable BIOS Legacy, see your PC documentation. To determine if you are using Windows 95 OSR2, see the user guide. 5. Toshiba 510 PC and OSR 2 The Toshiba 510 PC running Windows 95 OSR2 will not work with the 3C575-TX PC Card unless you request a patch from Toshiba. To determine if you are running OSR2, see chapters 3 or 4 in the user guide. 6. DOS and Resource Conflicts If you are running DOS, run Auto Config on the DOS diagnostics before you install the driver. That will ensure that you are using the correct values and do not create resource conflicts. 7. HP Omnibook 800CS and HP Omnibook 800CDT These PCs do not support CardBus and therefore the 3C575-TX PC Card does not work in them. 8. For the NEC 6030X PC, use I/O Base address 3040h. The default I/O Base address 3000h will not work on this PC. To change the I/O Base address, see Chapter 5 in the user guide. Frequently Asked Questions 1. Question: Can I use the 3C575-TX PC Card with another PC Card at the same time? Answer: If you are running Windows 95 OSR2, you can use the 3C575-TX PC Card with another PC Card. However, since other operating systems do not support CardBus, you can only use the PC Card by itself for now. For more information, see the user guide. 2. Question: Why do lines appear on my IBM TP760E during the Echo Test? Answer: The black lines are a nuisance but do not interfere with the Echo test. Please ignore them. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
