TSCOM - Touchscreen Version 7.2 Driver Setup for Windows XP Embedded

Note: To build in the TSCOM driver to the Windows XP Embedded run-time image,
      read "TSCOM_XPE_BuildIn.txt" file for detail information.

To install the TSCOM driver after the Windows XP Embedded system startup:
      
1) Preparing your Windows XP Embedded system for Touchscreen.

   Before install the TSCOM Driver, checkout the following required conditions.
   
   . Required components - Fonts: Fonts times_new_roman
   
     The Touchscreen Utilities (TSWXPCCP.EXE/TSWXPCAO.EXE/TSWXPCDE.EXE) required this component.
     
     If this component is not included in your Configuration, you will get a error message as
     below when running the Touchscreen Utilities.
		Error message:
		Run-time error '380':
		Invalid property value
		
     You may add it from Component Browser Window to your Configuration:
     Software -> System -> Multimedia & Graphics -> Fonts -> Fonts: Fonts times_new_roman
     
   . Required Drivers
   
     The Touchscreen Drivers required the Serial Port drivers:
     	- Serial.sys
     	- Serenum.sys.
     	
	 The followings is an example for you to checkout.
	    - Power on your target device system.
		- Choose Start -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management.
		- Click on "Device Manager".
		- Click on "Ports (COM&LPT)".
		- Right click on "Communications Port (COM1)".
		- Select "Properties".
		- Click on "Driver" tab.
		- Click on "Driver Details".
		If both Serial.sys and Serenum.sys are show on the list,
		the COM1 can be use for TSCOM Touchscreen Controller.
		
2) Installation

   Run Setup.exe to install TSCOM Driver. ( Same as Windows XP system )

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
