To configure your system to not use the Intel(R) Application
Accelerator software, print these instructions, and complete
Step 1 below to determine the mode that your system is
running in. Then, complete step 2A or 2B depending on the
determined mode.

*** Step 1: Determining the System Mode
************************************************************
To use this document effectively, you will need to know what
mode your system is in. The easiest way to determine the
mode is to identify how the Serial ATA controller is
presented within the Device Manager. The following procedure
will guide you through determining the mode.
1. Click 'Start'; select 'Settings', then 'Control Panel'
2. Double-click on the 'System' applet. You may have to
select 'Switch to Classic View' first.
3. Select the 'Hardware' tab in Windows* XP or Windows*
Server 2003, or select the 'Settings' tab in
Windows* 2000
4. Select the 'Device Manager' button
5. Look for an entry named 'SCSI and RAID Controllers'.
If this entry is present, expand it and look for one of
the following controllers:
- 'Intel(R) 6300ESB SATA RAID Controller'
If this controller is present, the system is an ESB
system in RAID mode and no further action is required.
- 'Intel(R) 82801FR SATA RAID Controller'
If this controller is present, the system is an ICH6R
system in RAID mode and no further action is required.
- 'Intel(R) 82801ER SATA RAID Controller'
If this controller is present, the system is an ICH5R
system in RAID mode and no further action is required.
- If neither of the controllers above are shown, then
the system is not running in RAID mode and you should
continue with step 6 below.
6. Look for an entry named 'IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers'.
If this entry is present, expand it and look for one of
the following controllers:
-- 'Intel(R) 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller'
If this controller is present, the system is an ICH6R
system in AHCI mode and no further action is required.
- If this controller is not present, then your system
is not in AHCI mode. No other modes are supported by
the Intel(R) Application Accelerator software and you
should continue with step 7 below.
7. Your system does not appear to be running in RAID or
AHCI mode. If you feel that your system is running in
RAID or AHCI mode and you do not see any of the
controllers listed above, you may choose to contact
your system manufacturer or place of purchase for
assistance.

*** Step 2A: RAID MODE
************************************************************
This section assumes that your system is running in RAID
mode. If you are still unsure as to which mode your system
is running in, please do not complete this procedure. If
you are sure that your system is running in RAID mode,
please read and understand the warnings below before
continuing.
WARNINGS:
a. If a RAID 0 volume is deleted, all data on that volume
will be permanently deleted. Back up all important data
before continuing.
b. If a RAID 1 volume is deleted and it is the second volume
within the RAID array, all data on that volume will be
permanently deleted. Back up all important data before
continuing.
1. Make sure you have read and understand the two warnings
above.
2. Reboot the system.
3. Depending on your system configuration, complete the
appropriate steps below.
4. Complete this step if your system has the Intel(R)
Application Accelerator RAID option ROM installed:
4a. Enter the Intel RAID Option ROM Setup by pressing
Ctrl-i at the appropriate time during boot-up.
4b. Once you have entered the Intel RAID Option ROM
Setup, select menu option 2 to ‘Delete Volume’,
‘Del’ to select the volume, and ‘Y’ to confirm
deletion.
4c. Exit the Option ROM Setup.
4d. Enter the system BIOS Setup (usually done by
pressing a key such as 'F2' or 'Delete' during
boot-up).
4e. Change the IDE configuration for the Serial ATA
Controller from 'RAID' to 'IDE'.
5. Complete this step if your system does not have the
Intel RAID Option ROM installed:
5a. Enter the system BIOS Setup (usually done by
pressing a key such as 'F2' or 'Delete' during
boot-up).
5b. Change the IDE configuration for the Serial ATA
Controller from 'RAID' to 'IDE'.
6. Reboot the system. If you have deleted a RAID volume that
contained the operating system, as discussed in the
warnings above, then you will need to re-install the
operating system.

*** Step 2B: AHCI MODE
************************************************************
1. Reboot the system.
2. Enter the system BIOS Setup (usually done by
pressing a key such as 'F2' or 'Delete' during
boot-up).
3. Change the IDE configuration for the Serial ATA
Controller from 'AHCI' to 'IDE'.
4. Reboot the system, you should still be able to boot the
operation system as before.
Note: If you experience any difficulties making these
changes to the system BIOS, please contact your motherboard
manufacturer or place of purchase for assistance.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
