PM560LH V.90 Driver Upgrade Driver Release 5.42 Document Revision 1.00 July 15, 1999 ======================================================================== V.90 version 5.42 drivers for DeskLink & DeskVoice Pro modems. ======================================================================== This PM542.EXE archive contains instructions for installing the V.90 drivers and Windows information files for the PM560LH modem. This pertains to the following ActionTec products: PCI56019/PM560LH README.TXT CONTENTS ======== 1) Overview 2) Extracting V.90 drivers 3) Deinstalling the V.90 PCI Windows Modem 4) Installing the V.90 5.42 drivers 1) Overview ============ The PM542.EXE archive contains all files to install the Lucent V.90 version 5.42 drivers. 2) Extracting V.90 drivers =========================== 1. Download the PM542.EXE. 2. Insert a blank floppy diskette in A: drive. 3. Run or double click on PM542.EXE. This will bring up a self-extraction window. Click on Unzip to extract files to the floppy diskette. 4. After the files are extracted, click on Close. Proceed to Section 3. 3) Deinstalling the V.90 PCI Windows Modem =========================================== 1. Insert the diskette in A:. Open My Computer and double-click on the Floppy icon. 2. Double-click on Ltremove.exe. 3. When prompted with "You are about to remove all your modem driver software. Are you sure you want to proceed?" Click Yes. Then click OK at the LTRemove's dialog "Modem Removal Complete." 4. When prompted to restart, click No. 5. Open Modems Control Panel (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Modems). Select the V.90 PCI Windows Modem and click Remove. Click on Close and close the Control Panel. Eject the floppy diskette. 6. Once you have completed these steps, reboot the computer via Start/ Shutdown. Then go to Section 4. 4) Installing the V.90 5.42 drivers ==================================== 1. After the system restarts, Windows will detect the modem and bring up a hardware installation screen. 2. Insert the floppy diskette into A: drive. 4. Click Next or OK to begin the installation process. Windows will find the appropriate INF file in A: finish installation of the modem. 4. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
