Windows XP Mini-PCI Combo Card  (PCM001103-xx) Driver Installation 

LAN Portion:

The Mini-PCI LAN adapter will appear as a PCI Ethernet Controller in the Other Devices category in the Device Manager.

1.   Double click the PCI Ethernet Controller. 
2.   Click the Drivers Tab. 
3.   Click Update Driver. 
4.   The Update Driver Wizard will open.
5.   Make sure "Search for a better. . ." is selected, Click Next. 
6.   Check the box labled "Specify a Location", Click Browse. 
7.   Browse to the location where you extracted the file "mpccmbXP.exe" file.
8.   Click OK. 
9.   Windows will detect a 3COM 10/100 Mini-PCI Ethernet Adapter, Click Next.
10. You may be prompted for the Windows XP CD-ROM.
11. Browse to the location you extracted the "mpccmbXP.exe" file.
12. You may be prompted again for the Windows XP CD-ROM.
13. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM and windows will begin to copy the necessary files. 
13. Once windows has copied the necessary files, Click Finish. 
14. You will be prompted to Restart the computer. Click Yes.


Modem Portion:

The Mini-PCI modem will show up as a PCI Communication device in the Other Devices category in the Device Manager.

1.   Double click the PCI Communications Device. 
2.   Click the Drivers Tab. 
3.   Click Update Driver. 
4.   The Update Driver Wizard will open.
5.   Make sure "Search for a better. . . " is selected, Click Next. 
6.   Check the box labled "Specify a Location", Click Browse. 
7.   Browse to the location where you extracted the file you downloaded.
8.   Click OK. 
9.   Windows will detect a 3Com 56K V.90 MiniPCI modem on Com2.
10. Click Next, Finish.

This completes the installation of both components.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
