Installation of the driver 4.47.2 for the Creatix Modem V9x HAM under Windows XP

1.	Extract the driver into a temporary directory.

2.	De-install the old driver (see also de-installation of the driver after this paragraph) or delete, after 
a new installation of the operating system, the entry for the modem ("PCI Communication 
Controller") at the device manager (start – settings – control panel – system – hardware – device 
manager [classic view] respectively start – control panel – performance and service – system – 
hardware – device manager[category view]) under "Other components".

3.	Reboot your PC.

4.	The assistant for searching new hardware: "PCI-Communication controller (simple)" will be 
started.

5.	Choose "Install the software from a list or a special source (for advanced users)" and continue 
with "Next".

6.	Search this source for the correct driver. Activate "search also the following source" and indicate 
the directory, where you have extracted the driver or search the position with the option "search". 
Important is, that you have given the complete path. Confirm this window with "Next".

7.	The PC is searching the given sources and find "Creatix V9X HAM Data Fax Modem". The 
software will be installed.

8.	Completion of  the assistant. The software for the following hardware has been installed: Creatix 
V9X HAM Data Fax Modem. "Finish".

9.	The modem should be available at the control panel (printer and hardware) under telephone- and 
modem-options.



De-installation of the driver 4.47.2 under Windows XP

1.	De-install (right mouse button) at the device manager (start – settings – control panel – system – 
hardware – device manager [classic view] respectively start – control panel – performance and 
service – system – hardware – device manager[category view]) the entry

2.	Delete in the hidden directory \WINDOWS\INF the file oem*.inf (the * stand for a number, which 
describes the modem). The oem-files can be opened with a double click.
The file looks in the beginning as follows:

3.	Control in the registration file (start – run – regedit) if the following entries are still existing (only 
this entries) and delete them.

4.	Now the driver should be deleted and the modem can be removed after shutting down the 
system, respectively the driver can be installed after a restart.

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
