Instructions for MT2834ZPW-MTS version 4.15 driver disk
***Note: Installation of this modem requires opening
your PC and installing an ISA card. Please unplug
your computer and ground yourself before touching
anything inside.
Initial installation in Windows 95 Environment:
1. Shutdown Windows 95, then turn off and unplug your
PC.
2. Remove the cover of the PC, then install and secure
the MT2834ZPW in an empty ISA slot in the PC.
3. Attach speaker and microphone cables to speaker and
microphone jack on mounting plate of the card. The
speaker and microphone are not necessary for
operation of the modem, but are necessary to fully
use the voice modem software capabilities.
4. Attach telephone line from wall to line jack on
mounting plate marked "line". You may also connect
a telephone to the jack on the mounting plate marked
"phone" if you want to, but it is not necessary.
5. Put the cover back on the PC, plug in PC power cord,
and when satisfied that all connections are in
order, power up.
6. As Windows 95 starts, a "New Hardware Detected"
popup will appear.
7. The MT2834ZPW will be detected, and Windows 95 will
ask for a driver disk. Insert the MT2834ZPW driver
disk in the floppy drive and click "OK".
8. Windows 95 will copy the necessary files for the
modem and serial wave device over to the hard drive.
9. When the installation completes, you may look in
Control Panel/Modems/Diagnostics and click on the
"More Info" button to verify communication with the
modem.
Driver upgrade:
Note: This upgrade is for a PC with a MT2834ZPW driver
version earlier than 4.15. The modem must already
be installed.
Windows 95:
1. In Windows 95 only, go to /Control Panel/Systems/
Device Manager. Click on the + sign next to the
Modems folder, and the MT284ZPW should be listed.
2. Double-click on the icon for the MT2834ZPW, and the
Multitech System's MT2834ZPW Properties window will
open.
3. Click on the Drivers tab, then click on the Update
Driver button in that screen. Insert MT2834ZPW
driver disk into the floppy drive.
4. Allow Windows 95 to search for the driver by
clicking next. Windows 95 should find the updated
driver on the floppy drive. Click the Finish Button.
5. The Insert Disk popup will now occur, click "OK".
The driver files will now be copied over to your
hard drive.
6. The Wave driver update wizard will launch after the
modem driver files are done copying. Windows 95
once again look to the floppy drive, and this time
find the Voice Modem Serial Wave Device driver.
Click Finish, and the driver will be updated.
7. At this time you will be dropped back to the
Properties window. If you click on the Driver File
Details tab, you can verify that the version is now
4.15.
8. Close the various Windows which are open. Shutdown
Windows 95, and reboot in order for the driver files
update to take effect.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
