   Installing & Configuring the Intel TokenExpress(TM) PRO adapter
   NetWare OS/2 Requester Driver with Novell's OS/2 LAN Requester v2.1
   ===================================================================

   Location of Driver: disk 2 \NWCLIENT

   For sample configuration files (CONFIG.SYS and NET.CFG), see the
   end of this document.

   General Installation
   --------------------

      1. Follow Novell's installation instructions for installing
	  Netware Requester.

      2. During the installation you are asked to enter the name of
	  the ODI LAN driver. Enter "TPROODI.SYS", this is the ODI
	  driver for OS/2.

      3. Choose the kind of session support you prefer for your
	  configuration.

      4. Click on "Save" to save the configuration. The CONFIG.SYS
	  file will be modified to include the statement
	  "DEVICE=C:\NETWARE\TPROODI.SYS".

      5. When prompted for a third-party ODI driver disk, insert
	  disk 2.

      6. Continue with the installation. When installation is
	  complete, select "Configuration", "This Workstation".
	  Enter the following in the NET.CFG file.

	     LINK DRIVER TPROODI
		 Frame Token-Ring
		 Frame Token-Ring_SNAP
	     LINK SUPPORT
		 Buffers 15 4202

      7. Save the configuration. The Netware Requester installation
	  is now complete.

      8. Reboot your system. You may now log into the network.

   Hints and Tips
   --------------

      1.  Notes on Source Routing:

	  NOVELL's module ROUTE.SYS must be loaded if Source Routing
	  is used in the installation. ROUTE.SYS is NOT copied
	  automatically by the installation utility. To copy ROUTE.SYS
	  during the installation, you may need to install the IBM
	  Token-Ring adapter driver TOKEN.SYS.

	  After the installation completes, you need to copy
	  TPROODI.SYS to the directory on the OS/2 workstation
	  containing the NetWare drivers (typically \NETWARE). You
	  need to modify the DEVICE statement in CONFIG.SYS so that
	  TPROODI.SYS is loaded instead of TOKEN.SYS.

	  Replace
		DEVICE=<path>TOKEN.SYS
	  with
		DEVICE=<path>TPROODI.SYS

	  The steps above may also be necessary with older versions of
	  the NetWare OS/2 requester, even if Source Routing is not
	  used.

	  An alternative method is to copy ROUTE.SYS from the OS/2
	  Requester diskettes to the directory on the OS/2
	  workstation, and include the following line in CONFIG.SYS:

		DEVICE=<path>ROUTE.SYS

      2. Optional configuration parameters in NET.CFG
	  This section lists the optional configuration parameters for
	  the Intel TokenExpress PRO OS/2 Requester driver. These
	  parameters are in addition to those listed in the NetWare
	  OS/2 Requester manual.

	  Parameter             Function
	  ---------             --------

	  Source Routing        Enables source routing
				(Default: source routing disabled).

	  Port [hex_num] Selects the adapter base I/O address.
				[hex_num] is one of following addresses:

				For a single adapter, this parameter is
				not required. For multiple adapters, use
				this parameter specifying any values
				available from TokenSet. For example:

				   Port Value    I/O Range
				   ----------    ---------
				   300           300 to 30F

	  Node Address Overrides the adapter's Burned-In Address.
	  [address] [address] must be a 12-digit hexadecimal
				number in the range 4000 0000 0000 -
				7FFF FFFF FFFF.

	  If used, these parameters should be added to the NET.CFG
	  file following the "Link Driver" entry. For example:

	     Link Driver TPROODI (must have no spaces preceding link)
	     options... (must be indented one or more spaces)
		      .
		      .
		      .

	  The following is a sample NET.CFG entry for an Intel Token-
	  Express PRO adapter configuration with optional parameters:

	     Link Driver TPROODI
		 Frame Token-Ring
		 Frame Token-Ring_SNAP
		 Source Routing
		 Port 300
	     Link Support
		 Buffers 15 4202

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
