   Installing and Configuring the Intel TokenExpress(TM) PRO adapter driver
   for IBM OS/2 V2.x with ES/2 and LAN Server V2.0 or LAN Server V3.0
   ========================================================================

   Location of driver:  disk 2   \IBMOS2\TPRO.OS2


   General Installation
   --------------------
 
      Extended Services/2 Ver 1.0 - workstation adapter driver installation
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------

      1.  Start the Communication Manager and select "Advanced",
	  "Configuration", "LAN Adapter and Protocol Support". Then select
	  "Copy additional network adapter drivers". When requested, enter
	  the path to the driver (A:\IBMOS2\OS2) and insert disk 2.

      2.  After the drivers have been copied, select "Configure workstation" 
	  and configure your workstation in accordance with your needs 
	  (refer to the IBM documentation). If you want more information 
	  about the parameters which may be used for configuring your 
	  adapter driver, please refer to the section "Configuring the 
	  MAC Driver" in the Adapter Guide to Operation.

      3.  The installation procedure copies the following files to the 
	  \IBMCOM\MACS directory:

	     \IBMOS2\TPRO.OS2          TokenExpress PRO adapter driver 
	     \IBMOS2\TPROEOS2.NIF      TokenExpress PRO adapter network 
				       interface file 
				       (used by configuration utility)
		     
     
      LAN Server 2.0 - server adapter driver installation
      ---------------------------------------------------

      1.  Select LAN Services Installation/Configuration and select 
	  Advanced installation.

      2.  Next select "Install and Configure this Workstation", "Configure a
	  component", "LAN Adapter and Protocol Support" and then "Copy
	  additional network adapter drivers".  When requested, enter the 
	  path to the driver (A:\IBMOS2) and insert disk 2.

      3.  After the adapter driver has been copied select "Configure
	  workstation" and configure your workstation in accordance with 
	  your needs (refer the IBM documentation).  If you want more 
	  information about the parameters which may be used for 
	  configuring your adapter driver, please refer to the section 
	  "Configuring the MAC Driver" in the Adapter Guide to Operation.

      4.  When you have completed the installation and configuration the
	  following files will have been copied to the \IBMCOM\MACS 
	  directory:

	     TPRO.OS2         TokenExpress PRO adapter driver
	     TPROEOS2.NIF     TokenExpress PRO adapter network 
			      interface file 
			      (used by configuration utility)
			   

      LAN Server 3.0 - server adapter driver installation
      ---------------------------------------------------

      If LAN Adapter Protocol Support (LAPS) is not installed,

      1.  Insert the 'IBM Network Transport Services/2, LAN Adapter and 
	  Protocol Support' disk in drive A: and run the LAPS program 
	  (i.e. A:\LAPS).

      2.  From the LAPS program's main menu, select "Install".
	  This installs the LAPS program on the computer's hard disk.

	  After the LAPS program has been installed on the hard disk, the 
	  program's main menu displays with "Install", "Configure", 
	  "Remove", "Exit", and "Help" options enabled. Continue the 
	  installation with step 2 listed below.


      If LAPS is already installed,
 
      1.  Run LAPS (LAPS.EXE) from the \IBMCOM directory.

      2.  From the main menu, select "Install".
	  This will install your adapter's drivers.

      3.  When prompted for the source path of your "Additional Network      
	  Drivers", enter the path (i.e. A:\IBMOS2), insert disk 2, and 
	  select "OK".

      4.  When the "Installation Completed" message appears on your 
	  screen, select "OK".


      Proceed to configure your TokenExpress PRO adapter by doing 
      the following:

      5.  From the LAPS main menu, select "Configure".

      6.  In the configuration dialog box, select "Configure LAN 
	  Transport", then "Continue".

      7.  Select "Intel TokenExpress PRO" as your network adapter by 
	  adding it to the "Current Configuration".


      Edit your TokenExpress PRO adapter configuration parameters 
      by doing the following:

      8.  In the current configuration list, select "Intel TokenExpress
	  Pro Adapter". 

      9.  Select "Edit".

     10.  Change the "I/O Base Address" to the value that corresponds 
	  to the I/O base address of your adapter.

     11.  Select "OK" to save the new parameter value.

     12.  Add and configure any protocols or make any changes
	  to the TokenExpress PRO adapter to suit your requirements.

     13.  When you have finished configuring the LAN Transports, select "OK".

     14.  Exit from LAPS and select "Continue" to let LAPS update the
	  CONFIG.SYS file on your boot drive.

     15.  Follow the remaining LAPS instructions to complete your 
	  installation.

     16.  Reboot your system to activate your TokenExpress PRO adapter.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
