   Auto-ring speed detect

Auto-ring speed detect senses your token ring's speed
(4 or 16 Mbps) and configures your adapter accordingly.

An adapter that has auto-ring speed detect simply connects
to the network and "listens." When it "hears" the ring speed,
it automatically sets itself to that speed.

All TokenExpress(TM) PRO adapters come equipped with this
      new technology.

   Notes on auto-ring speed detect
   -------------------------------

      - For auto-ring speed detect to function properly, there
must be at least one other node on the ring to establish
         the ring speed.

      - We recommend the following setup: Servers, bridges, and
routers set the ring speed. To change the speed of your
token ring, change the settings on your servers, bridges,
and routers. That way your clients, after rebooting,
will automatically update to the new speed.

      - Some manufacturer's "intelligent" hubs may interfere with
auto-ring speed detect. If you have problems joining the
ring, use TokenSet to force the ring speed to either 4 or 16.
If you don't know what the ring speed is, contact your
         LAN administrator.
