LAN Server v1.00 LAN Server installation notes for Intel's EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100B LAN adapter ========================================================== Location of Driver: \NDIS\E100B.OS2 (OS/2* driver) \NDIS\E100BOS2.NIF or \NDIS\E100B.DOS (DOS driver) \NDIS\E100BEDS.NIF Sample configuration file ------------------------- PROTOCOL.INI (will include): [E100B_NIF] DriverName = E100B$ General installation - Lan Server 4.0 ------------------------------------- 1 Run the LAP utility. 2 Click the "Other Adapter" button. 3 Insert the Intel Configuration and Drivers disk in a floppy drive and type A:\NDIS. Then click OK. 4 Select the Intel EtherExpress PRO/100B for OS/2 Adapter from the Network Adapter list and click the Add button. 5 Select the desired protocol(s) and click the Add button. 6 For advanced configuration options, click the Edit button. This allows you to configure Speed, Duplex and Slot Device. Speed: 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, autosense (default = autosense) Force Duplex: Half Duplex, Full Duplex, Autosense (default = autosense - must be an auto sensing hub). Slot Device: PCI device number (only necessary if multiple adapters are installed). If you don't know the device number, run SETUP.EXE under DOS. NOTE: If Force Duplex is set to half or full, Speed can no longer autosense and must be set to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. 7 Exit LAPS. General installation - LAN Server 3.0 ------------------------------------- 1 Run the LAP utility. 2 Click INSTALL. 3 When prompted, insert the Intel Configuration and Drivers disk in drive A and type A:\NDIS. NOTE: You may see two messages complaining about bad E100BDOS.NIF and E100BOS2 files. Just click OK to ignore them. They are finding NIF files for use with a different installation. 4 When INSTALL reads E100BOS2.NIF, installation is complete. Click OK. 5 Select the PRO/100 Ethernet Adapter for OS/2 (Do NOT select the PRO/100 Ethernet Adapter for DOS) and click ADD. 6 Click Configure. 7 Select Lan Transport and click Continue. 8 Select Protocol and click Add. 9 Click OK, then Exit to complete installation. General installation under DOS ------------------------------ 1 Run the DOS Lan Services Install program on the DOS workstation. 2 A screen will display options. Press "List options are correct". 3 From the next screen, select "Network Cards" and press <Enter>. 4 Select "Add driver for network card" and press <Enter>. 5 Select "Network card not shown in list" and press <Enter>. 6 When prompted, insert the Intel PRO/100B adapter disk in drive A and type A:\DOS and press <Enter>. 7 Select the Intel EtherExpress PRO/100B adapter from the list and press <Enter>. 8 To change any of the advance setting such as Speed or duplex, select "Edit settings for Network Card". This will allow you to configure Speed, Duplex & slot device. Speed: 10Mbps, 100Mbps, autosense (default, autosense) Force Duplex: Half Duplex, Full Duplex, Autosense (default, autosense). You must have an auto sensing hub to configure for full- duplex. If you don't have an auto-sensing hub, set this parameter to Full Duplex and also set the speed to either 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps). Slot Device: PCI device number (only necessary if multiple adapters are installed). If you don't know the device number, run SETUP.EXE under DOS. NOTE: If Force Duplex is set to half or full, Speed can no longer autosense and must be set to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps 9 To finish select "Driver Configuration is Correct", then "listed options are correct". NOTE: You may get a message requesting a disk for DOS Lan Services. Just press <Enter> as a disk is not required. General installation under DOS ------------------------------ 1 Run DXMAID from the IBM OS/2 LAN Server v3.0 LAN Requester; LAN Support Program (LSP). 2 Complete environment information according to your needs. 3 Specify directory where E100B.DOS and E100BEDS.NIF are located. See driver location listing above for location on adapter disk. 4 When DXMAID is completed, run INSTALL from DOS LAN Requester diskette. NOTE: LAN Requester needs DOS 3.3 thru 5, but if you are on DOS 6.0 or above, SETVER can be used on the EXE files on the DOS LAN Requester disks. * Third-party trademarks are the property of their respective owners.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
