Leopard 56K Pocket USB Driver Installation ------------------------------------------ You should have extracted the contents of the usb230.exe file (which includes this file) to c:\sharkmm. If not, then run the usb230.exe file again and extract the drivers to c:\sharkmm. Click Start Click Settings Click Control Panel Double-click Add/Remove Programs Locate the "Uninstall Pocket USB modem" from the list and click on the Add/Remove button. Once this process is finished, you may unplug the Leopard USB from your system if you have not done so already. Make sure the original driver CD that came with your modem is NOT in your CD-ROM drive. Now plug the Leopard 56K Pocket USB back into your system's USB port and your system will detect new hardware. When prompted to search for drivers make sure to choose only "Specify Location" and that location will be c:\sharkmm. The installation will only take a few moments and the modem will be ready for use without having to reboot your system. TROUBLESHOOTING --------------- --The modem does not respond to the system-- Click Start Click Settings Click Control Panel Double-click Modems Select the Diagnostics tab Select the COM port where the modem is installed. Click on the MORE INFO button One of two things will happen: 1) You will see port information and a list of ATI commands and responses. The modem is responding to the system properly. In this case you should double-check your Windows 98 Dial Up Networking folder or your ISP's modem setup to make sure that the correct modem is selected and the proper COM port is specified. 2) You will get one of several possible errors.
