Please refer to¡°Quick Guide for Fingerprint Recognition Software¡±for more details.

¢º Fingerprint Driver Installation

The fingerprint drivers are installed automatically during the installation of OmniPass

program. If, for some reason, you want to install the fingerprint drivers only (such as

after the reinstallation of the operating system), please install fingerprint recognition

program. You may then delete software if it is not required, the fingerprint drivers will

   not be deleted.

¢º Q & A

  - I can find a 10Mbyte Non-DOS partition on my Hard disk through FDISK. Can I delete it?

: The 10Mbyte Non-Dos partition on your Hard Disk is required to use the Pre-Boot
Authentication (PBA) feature. This partition is automatically managed by the OmniPass
software. If you delete this partition, you will no longer be able to use the OmniPass
PBA feature. Please note that even when reinstalling the operating system, this partition
      should not be deleted.

  - After reinstalling the operating system and re-booting, I receive a message to type in a
text password. What should I do?

: If the OmniPass Pre-Boot Authentication feature was enabled before reinstalling the OS,
you should type in the PBA password which you entered when originally enabling PBA. It
is always best to disable PBA before removing or re-installing the operating system or
OmniPass program. Even if you did not disable PBA before re-installing the OS, you can
make PBA work with the fingerprint sensor again by disabling PBA in the OmniPass program
      and re-enabling it again.

  - When I type in my PBA password instead of using the fingerprint sensor at the PBA screen,
the Single Touch automatic Windows login feature does not work. Why not?

: The Single Touch feature only works if you use the fingerprint sensor when logging in to
PBA. This is done for security reasons, so an unauthorized user cannot gain access to your
computer by merely knowing your PBA password.

  - Is the PBA password case-sensitive?

: Yes. For added security, the PBA password is case-sensitive. This means you must always
type in capital and lower case letters exactly as you first entered them.

  - Can I decrypt a file encrypted by OmniPass Software on another computer?

: No, a file encrypted by OmniPass Software can not be decrypted on another computer.
Furthermore, please be aware that if you remove the OmniPass Software, you will not be able to
access the encrypted file in the future. Please make sure to decrypt all files before creating
a data backup or removing OmniPass Software.

  - I have run across a few Internet sites that do not seem to work with the OmniPass password
vault feature. I cannot replace my password with a fingerprint on these sites. What is wrong?

: The OmniPass password vault feature works with the vast majority of the Internet sites. However,
due to the way some websites are built, there are a few websites OmniPass does not work with.
This is due to the website and not OmniPass. In these few cases, you must continue using
      your password.

  - I get the instruction to place your finger on the sensor on the Pre-Boot authentication(PBA)
screen even after I have deleted all enrolled fingerprints in OmniPass. What is wrong?

: There is nothing wrong. the program is working normally. Even though all enrolled fingerprints
are deleted this screen will still appear. This way, unauthorized users have no way of knowing
if fingerprints are enrolled, only you will know. To boot the computer, simply type in your
PBA password. After new fingerprints are enrolled, you may resume using the fingerprint sensor
      to boot up.

  - I can't use the fingerprint sensor in Windows Safe Mode. What is wrong?

: The OmniPass fingerprint driver does not get loaded in Windows Safe Mode. Therefore, you cannot
use the Omnipass features in Safe Mode.

  - My fingerprint appears broken vertically in the OmniPass Software from time to time.
    Is my fingerprint sensor defective?

: No, although the real-time image of your fingerprint may look broken in the OmniPass Software,
your fingerprint recognition sensor will work correctly and will not have any effect on the operations
      of the fingerprint sensor.

¢º Restriction

Please note the following restrictions for the OmniPass Fingerprint Recognition Software.

  - Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher is needed for installation.

  - Fingerprint Recognition Software requires Fast User Switching to be enabled in Windows XP to use the OmniPass logon features.
OmniPass logon features will not be available if Fast User Switching option is disabled.
