    The AGP 4X/133 VxD Driver supports the functions accodring to Microsoft AGP 
  Software Specification Rev 1.5. This specification describes the interface
  between AGP Master and onboard memory.

1) System Requirements

System Requirements
===================
This driver should be installed on a system with the AGP 4X/133 chipset,
VT82C597 or later, and others' chipsets will not be supported. The VxD
Driver is only supported by Windows 95 OSR 2.1 (4.00.950 B) or later version.

For Win95 users,you will need to
1. Get "USBSUPP.EXE" from Microsoft, which includes the USB supplement
   and a new memory manager (VMM32.VxD) needed for the AGP DIME (Direct
   Memory Execute) feature. 
2. Get DirectX 5.0 from Microsoft. DirectX 5.0 is the first DirectX version
   that supports AGP's DIME. 
3. Get AGP Master (i.e., AGP VGA) Driver from VGA Supplier.
4. Get "VIAGART.VXD", a virtual device manager which usually will be
   installed in the following installation procedure of the Windows 95 card
   driver.

2) Distribution Package Contents  
   This distribution floppy is compressed by pkzip. You can uncompress the
zip file by "pkunzip -d " + "ZIP_FILE" .
   For example, there is a zip file, abc.zip. You can uncompress it by the
following instruction:
   pkunzip -d abc.zip

3)  Windows 9x Driver
    
    *************************
    ** Driver Installation **
    *************************
      Method 1: Change Directory to 'setup' subfolder in this installation package. 
    Run "setup -s -f1A:install.iss". It will install the "AGP 4X/133 VxD Driver" 
    automatically on your Windows 9x system. It will copy the driver "viagart.vxd"
    to the '\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\' and set the related registry tree and then reboot 
   the system. The "A:" means that this installation package is under "A:." User 
   can copy the installation package to any folder and then replace
   "A:" with the path of that folder.

      Method 2: Change Directory to 'setup' subfolder in this installation package.
    Run "setup -s -f1A:inoreset.iss". The same effect as Method 1 except the system
    will not reboot.

      Method 3: Click the SETUP.EXE program and select "Install AGP 4x/133 VxD in turbo
    mode" or "Install AGP 4x/133 VxD in normal mode"  button  then it will 
    install the "AGP 4X/133 VxD Driver" automatically on your Windows 9x
    system. It will copy the driver "viagart.vxd" to the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ and  set 
    the related registry tree.    

    ***************************
    ** Driver Uninstallation **
    ***************************
      Method 1: Youd could run "setup -s -f1A:uninst.iss" to remove the "AGP
    4X/133 VxD Driver".  It will completely remove the driver from the sytsem. 
    The A: means that the installation package is under "A:.". User can 
    copy then installation package to any folder and then replace 'A:' 
    with the path of that folder.

      Method 2: You could remove the "AGP 4X/133 VxD Driver" by first clicking
    the setup program and then selecting the "Uninstall" button. It will 
    completely remove the driver from the sytsem.
 
4) OPK files
     The files under "INF" subfolder are for OPK used.
   
5) Package Version Identify

      You could check this distribuation version and release date by using 
    the DATE\TIME displayed by using "dir setup.exe" command, e.g :
    
      SETUP    EXE        59,392  12-22-99   3:59 SETUP.EXE

    The version number reads as 3:59, which was released on the date of 12/22/99.

6) Verifying Installation of the Driver

     You could check this distribuation version by using "Windows Explorer". 
   Reading the version of the "Properties" of the file "viagart.vxd" under 
   "Windows\System" folder.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
