1. How to run the Upgrade Program
=================================

    After decompressing the files onto your hard, you can start the upgrade
program by running UPDATE.EXE.

    This upgrade program will ask you for your current operating system
type (i.e. Windows 95/Windows NT, Windows 3.1/3.11, or DOS only). After
verifying the location of EZ-SCSI, the upgrade program will automatically
upgrade your Adaptec EZ-SCSI drivers.

2.  Troubleshooting Tips
========================

Listed below are some of the possible errors you may encounter if one the
followings does occur:

  () Adaptec EZ-SCSI is not already installed on your system.
  () The upgrade program cannot verify your EZ-SCSI directory location.
  () The accompanying files are missing or not in the same directory as
     the executable file.

                                halted the program. This could happen if
                                the accompanying patch file, DOSWINUP.RTP,
                                is not in the same directory as UPDATE.EXE.
                                Make sure the two files are in the same

                                Another possible reason for this message
                                is if the file, PATCH.EXE, is not in the
                                same location as UPDATE.EXE. Copy the file
                                PATCH.EXE into the same location as
                                UPDATE.EXE and re-run the program.
