readme.txt Driver File Contents (xke7169.exe)

This is the 7169 revision of the firmware for the Motorola M1200 modem found in the Micron XKE notebook. The 7169 firmware is the 33.6Kbps revision. Execute SETUP.EXE to install it. This will force the older firmware into the modem, resulting in a flash back from 56Kbps, to 33.6Kbps.

To use this utility, your modem must be set to use resources: COM2 IRQ3. This can be
accomplished in CMOS setup (BIOS). The files MUST be extracted onto a floppy disk (A:\) and
run from there.

If you have any questions about this utility, please feel free to contact Micron Electronics Technical Support at 1-888-349-6972 or by e-mail at transport@micronpc.com.

NOTE: If you are using a Motorola StarTac cellular phone, you cannot use the 7169 revision of the firmware. Special needs were met with the 8020 firmware to support the StarTac cellular phone, and flashing to 7169 will keep those functions from working.
