Updating an existing SCO Unix installation with the new fdhb driver

Step 1: Copy new driver to /ect/conf/pack.d/fdha/Driver.o
	 Note:  Rename original driver for backup in case of problems
	 Note:  Be sure that Extended Utilities have been installed

Step 2: mdevice has to be modified
	 Type the following:
		cd /etc/conf/cf.d
				
		vi mdevice		
				
		/ fdha			the '/' is the search for command

		change 3rd field from "fdh_" to "fdi_" - Put cursor under h and
		type ri for 'replace with i' hit  'ESC' and  'Shift :' to leave
		editor

		at prompt type :wq or if in trouble :q!
				
		cd /

Step 3: Type /ect/conf/bin/idbuild

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
