Network Drivers Installation Notes

              WINDOWS 3.1X AND NOVELL NETWARE

This document describes how to configure the LAN+Modem card
for use with Windows version 3.1x and Novell NetWare. These
procedures are also described in the LAN+Modem card User
 Guide.

NOTE: The following instructions assume you have not installed
another network adapter in the PC. If another networking
adapter has already been installed, these instructions will
not apply or appear accurate. Consult with your MIS
department or System Administer for further instructions.

Before installing the network driver, you should know the
transport used in the Novell Network (typically IPX/SPX) and
have access to the following software components:

    - Novell NetWare VLM Client disks for DOS and Windows
    - The Installation Disk #2 that came with your LAN+Modem card.

 Installation Instructions
 -------------------------

 1. Boot the PC in DOS. If the PC starts up in Windows,
exit Windows to return to the DOS prompt.

 2. Place the Novell VLM client disk #1 in the floppy drive. Type:

         a:\install <Enter>.

This opens the NetWare client installation screen.

 3. Use the down arrow key to move from line to line. Make sure
that all information is correct. When you are asked to select
the driver for your network card, click "Enter" to see the
list of supported adapters. At the bottom of the list,
     select "Other Drivers".

 4. When prompted for a driver disk, put the Installation
Disk #2 in your floppy drive and press Enter. The LAN+Modem
card should appear as the first item on the list. Select it
     and click "Enter".

 5. Specify the frame type by clicking "Enter" and choosing the
appropriate type from the list. Click "Enter" to select your
     choice.

(You will not need to select an I/O Base. Use the default.)

 6. Press F10 to return to the main installation screen. Position
the cursor on line 6 and press Enter. The installer
prompts you for several diskettes and notifies you when the
     installation is complete.

 7. Click "Enter" to exit the installation program and return to DOS.

 8. Reboot the computer by clicking <CTRL><ALT><DEL>. When you
go into Windows You will be able to LOGIN to the
     Novell Servers.

The configuration manager (EMENABLE.EXE) must be added to the
AUTOEXEC.BAT file or CONFIG.SYS file. Add the line:

         EMENABLE
