Welcome to the SCSIWorks! ASPI Manager Upgrade Program.  To successfully run
this program you must have SCSIWorks! already installed on your system. Read
the information contained in this file before running the upgrade program to
ensure you have the latest information regarding your Trantor ASPI Managers.

This README file contains the following information:

        1.  How to run this Upgrade program
        2.  What files will be upgraded
        3.  How to get EZ-SCSI 3.1 for only $29.00


1. How to run this Upgrade program:
-----------------------------------

At the DOS prompt type the following:

        UPGRADE  C:\TSCSI

where C:\TSCSI is the location of your current SCSIWorks! ASPI Managers. The
program will update all necessary files automatically.  When the upgrade
procedure is complete, the new files will reside in the C:\TSCSI directory.
The old ASPI Managers will be stored in a new directory called \OLDSYS.  

If you wish to undo the upgrade, enter the \OLDSYS directory and rename the
file UNPATCH.BAK to UNPATCH.BAT. Run this file.  It will automatically
replace your old ASPI Managers into their original directory.

2. What files will be upgraded:
-------------------------------

This upgrade program will upgrade the following ASPI Managers from SCSIWorks!
version 1.2, 1.21, or 1.3 to the latest ASPI Managers as contained in 
EZ-SCSI 3.1:

                MA160.SYS
                MA348.SYS
                MA348IBM.SYS
                MA358.SYS
                MA358IBM.SYS
                MA460.SYS

3. How to get EZ-SCSI 3.1 for only $29.00:
------------------------------------------

If you have a previous version of SCSIWorks! you can upgrade to the latest
Adaptec EZ-SCSI package for $29.00. 

NOTE: EZ-SCSI 3.1 will only support the following SCSI Host Adapters:

        Trantor MiniSCSI EPP  (T358)
        Adaptec MiniSCSI Plus (APA-348)
        Adaptec MiniSCSI EPP  (APA-358)

        Trantor T260

EZ-SCSI 3.1 contains the following list of SCSI software applications:

     o  SCSI Power Management Application (Windows)
     o  SCSI Benchmark Application (Windows)
     o  SCSI Disk Partitioner (Windows)
     o  Scanner Application (Windows)
     o  Photo CD Viewer (Windows)
     o  SCSI Tape Backup utility (Windows)
     o  Additional Adaptec SCSI Host Adapter support
     o  On-line 3rd party catalog (Windows)

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
