Installation:

Follow the steps to install the D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card's driver:

    1. Start your PC, then insert the D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card
       into an available PC Card slot in your PC .

    2. After starting Windows 95, the D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card 
       will be detected automatically, then the Update Device Driver Wizard
       window appears.

    3. Insert the D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card Installation disk
       into CDROM disk drive.

    4. Click the Next button in the Update Device Driver Wizard window.
       Win95 will start to search CDROM drive for network driver,
       and Windows displays the message

            "D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card"

    5. Click the "Other Location..." in the Update Device Driver Wizard
       window, then the Select Other Location window appears.

    6. Type type the path that matches the CD-ROM drive on your system.
       For example, enter the following path: E:\ and click OK button to
       install D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card driver.

    7. Click Finish button,
       then the Win95 starts to copy the D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card
       driver to the user's hard disk.

    8. If Win95 prompt you :
       "The file 'DLKRCB.SYS' on D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card
       Driver Disk could not be found",
       "Insert D-Link DFE-690TXD CardBus PC Card Driver Disk into the
       drive selected below and, click ok", fill the "Copy file from:"
       Type the path that matches the CD-ROM drive on your system.
       For example, enter the following path: E:\

       Then click ok.

    9. Restart your computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
