INSTALLATION
------------
1.  Start Windows 95.
2.  Click Start button, and then point to Settings.
3.  Click the Control Panel icon.
4.  Double-click the Display icon.
5.  Click the Setting tab.
6.  Click the Change Display Type button.
7.  Under Adapter Type click Change.
8.  Click the Have Disk.
9.  Enter the drivers location path. If installing from floppy, enter the
    drive letter (i.e. a:) and click OK.
10. Select the device driver to install and click OK.
11. When the installation completes, click the Close button.
12. Set the display resolution and color depth a using the Desktop Area
    and Color Palette options, then click the Apply button.
13. Restart your computer.

FEATURES

1.  Supports linear address by default.
2.  Supports 16-bit and 32-bit read and write MMIO and re-locatable MMIO
    address.
3.  Supports hardware polygons.
4.  Allows both graphics engine and linear address to be enabled
    simultaneously.

KNOWN PROBLEMS
--------------
WINBENCH - The clock shape cursor is not presented at the screen center
           while the test is running.
 
COLOR PALETTE- The color palette is corrupted when you install Windows 95
          on a computer running Window 3.1 in True Color mode.  Even though
          the screen is almost unreadable the installation process runs
          correctly.

2.0  INTRODUCTION

This diskette contains the Refresh Property Sheet for 
onboard S3* Trio32*, Trio64*, and Trio64V+* video solution 
hardware.  The Refresh Property Sheet adds a page to 
Display Properties in Control Panel, which enables the user 
to check and change the monitor refresh rate setting.

3.0 UTILITY INSTALLATION
------------------------
1.  Start the Windows* 95 operating system.
2.  Insert the diskette into the diskette drive. 
3.  From Windows, Double-click on My Computer.
4.  Double-click on the icon for the floppy drive which contains 
    the diskette.
5.  Right-click (click on right mouse button) on the icon 
    titled S3_refre.inf
6.  A pull-down menu will appear.  Select Install from the 
    pull-down menu.

4.0 LIMITATION
--------------
56Hz setting - Selecting the 56Hz refresh rate setting will
set the monitor refresh rate for 43Hz (or 86Hz interlaced).  This 
limitation will be fixed on the next release of the Refresh 
Property Sheet.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
