Vista Scan Monitor Help Contents	Version 1.01      	Date:10/28/98 

Older Versions of software and reasons for update:
Version 1.0
Vista Scan 5000.INF file contains conflicting data with monitor EDID. No complications will occur with computer, monitor display or USB functionality. NEC internet sight contains updated version of Vista Scan Setup Installation Diskette.

Setup of Vista Scan monitor:
1.Connect VGA cable to computer VGA interface. 
2.Connect AC power cable to monitor.
3.Turn on computer.
4.Go to Start\Run.
5.Insert setup9x diskette into floppy drive.
6.Run Setup9x.exe
7.Restart computer.
8.Connect USB cable to computer.
9.Connect USB cable to monitor.

Using the Vista Scan USB Monitor functions:
1.USB functionality is activated by either selecting the monitor Windows hot keys on the monitor (please refer to monitor's user manual for details) or may be activated by selecting Monitor Display.
Windows 95:
a. Activate USB monitor functionality.
b. Select desired parameter to be altered.
c. Move control bars with mouse, keyboard or monitor adjustment controls (please refer to monitor's user manual for details).
Windows 98:
a. Activate Monitor Display.
b. Select Settings\Advanced\USB Monitor
c. Move control bars with mouse, keyboard or monitor adjustment controls (please refer to monitor's user manual for details).

Trouble Shooting Techniques:
1.USB functionality will not work after installing USB software:
a.If using Windows 95, there maybe a possibility that the version of Windows 95 or the computer does not support USB functionality.
b.Some computer systems will need to have the USB activated via the CMOS or BIOS. Refer to your computer system owner's manual for this information.
c.If other USB devices (such as keyboard, mouse) are functional check connection of USB cable to monitor and connect USB cable to alternative USB connection.
d.If USB functionality does not work after verifying USB functionality, try a different USB cable.
e.If Vista Scan monitor does not detect Vista Scan USB Monitor after installing USB installation, check System Properties\Device Manager and select monitor to see devices implemented. Both Vista Scan monitor as well as Vista Scan USB monitor should be seen. If Vista Scan USB monitor is not seen, then reinstall setup9x.exe.
2.USB functionality does not work when selecting monitor's Windows hot key, select Control Panel\Monitor Display\Advanced\USB Monitor. If USB Monitor folder is not located, reinstall setup9x.exe. 

Known Complications:
1.The Vista Scan USB monitor may only have USB functionality with computers that support USB functionality.
2.If USB connector is disconnected while USB functionality is in use, this may cause the computer system to stall or stop responding.
3.Deleting USB files or removing USB devices will cause the USB functionality to stop responding and may also cause the computer system to stall or stop responding.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
