 - A Microphone Boost check box is enabled as a default setting.
 - The "22kHz 16bit Mono" format is selected in the sound recorder
   as a default setting.

6.14.01.3835 Update (Unsigned)
 - Removed a SSID for Hanghou10 from a Stac97.inf.
 - Added an Equalizer tab in the control panel applet.
 - Changed initialized settings of the audio power management.
   The "Enable Power Management" is checked and the 5 is set in the
   "Time to Power Saving State:".
 - Fixed the problem that a pop noise occurs when playing a wave file.

 - This version is the first version as an official internal release.

Restrictions
------------
1. A pop noise will occur when play/stop a wave file if the audio power
   management is enabled.
2. A pop noise will occur when resuming from the standby.
3. If you select the Wave format with the 8 bit (the quantum bit), you may
   hear a white noise when recording from the microphone.
4. The CTEST may stop during playing sound files if the verifier is enabled.

Verifing a driver version
-------------------------
1. Launch the device manager.
2. Double-click "SigmaTel C-Major Audio" under Sound, video and game controllers.
3. Verify "6.14.1.3835" is shown on Driver Version in the Driver tab.
4. Click Driver Details and select "Stac97.sys" in Driver Details.
5. Vefify "5.10.3835" is shown on File version.

Installation

1. Run SETUP.EXE.
2. Click Next.
3. Click Finish.

You do not need to restart Windows if you install this driver for the first time.
However, you must restart Windows if you install the driver by overwriting an
older version.

Uninstall

1. Launch the Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select "SigmaTel AC97 Audio Drivers" and click a Change/Remove button.
3. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
