INSTALLATION
Installing your Rio PCI Frame Grabber under Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP
* Shut down your computer.
* Place the Rio PCI frame-grabber(s) into empty PCI slot(s).
* Turn on your computer.
* In case of Windows 2000/XP, make sure you are logged on to Windows with
administrative privileges.
* Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP automatically detects the change in hardware and the
'New Hardware Found' dialogbox appears.
* Click 'Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer'.
* Click OK. The 'Install From disk' dialogbox appears.
* Insert the Rio installation disk labeled "Drivers" into the floppy disk drive
or the Rio CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
* Specify the correct path ('A:\Win95' for Windows 9x/ME installation from
floppy disk or CD-ROM drive letter +'\Win95' for Windows 9x/ME CD-ROM install,
'A:\WinNT' for Windows 2000/XP installation from floppy disk or CD-ROM drive
letter +'\WinNT' for Windows 2000/XP CD-ROM install) and click OK.
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
* After the installation has finished, run Setup.exe from the first Rio
installation floppy disk or Rio CD-ROM.
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
Installing your Rio PCI Frame Grabber under Windows NT 4.0 or older
* Shut down your computer.
* Place the Rio PCI frame-grabber(s) into empty PCI slot(s).
* Turn on your computer.
* Make sure you are logged on to Windows NT with administrative privileges.
* Insert the first Rio installation disk into the floppy disk drive or the Rio
CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
* Run Setup.exe from the first Rio installation floppy disk or the Rio CD-ROM.
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE:
Installation under Windows will also allow you to install the DOS and VxWorks
software library.
NOTE:
Installation uncer Windows will also allow you to install an
Image-Pro Plus driver when Image-Pro Plus is installed on your system.
In case Image-Pro Plus is being installed AFTER the Ellips Rio installation,
the user must install this driver (captRIO.dll) manually. It can be found on
the first Rio installation disk or Rio CD-ROM in the sub-folder \IPWin3.
The file needs to be copied to the main Image-Pro Plus directory.
After installation from Windows, the Ellips Rio can be used with the
RioWin windows application, to start grabbing. The software library can be used
to make your own application work with the Rio frame grabber.

Installing your Rio PCI Frame Grabber under DOS
* Shut down your computer.
* Place the Rio PCI frame-grabber(s) into empty PCI slot(s).
* Turn on your computer and boot DOS.
* Insert the Rio installation floppy disk labeled 'DOS installation' into the
floppy disk drive or the Rio CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
* Run Install.bat from the disk or the CD-ROM.
* Follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE: The Dos installation is packaged using Info-ZIP's compression utility.
The installation program uses UnZip to read zip files from floppy.
Info-ZIP's software (Zip, UnZip and related utilities) is free and can
be obtained as source code or executables from various bulletin board
services and anonymous-ftp sites, including CompuServe's IBMPRO forum
and ftp.uu.net:/pub/archiving/zip/*.

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
