CONTENTS -------- Section 1: Disk 2 Overview Section 2: Disk 2 Organization Section 3: Where to Find Additional Information Section 1: Disk 2 Overview --------------------------- This README.TXT file describes the contents of the Digital Equipment Corporation ATMworks 350 DOS-format distribution diskette for Novell NetWare (Disk 2). This diskette contains the driver that allows the ATMworks 350 adapter to operate on NetWare 3.12, 4.02 and 4.1 servers connected to an ATM network. The diskette contains several subdirectories. The subdirectories and their contents are summarized below. The README.TXT files are long. You can print a copy of the appropriate README.TXT before beginning the driver installation. To view the README.TXT file, you can use a text editor installed on your system or the following procedure. At the MS-DOS prompt, enter the following: MORE < README.TXT The text output pauses at the end of each full screen. The text output resumes when you press ENTER. To stop viewing the README.TXT file, press CTRL-C. Configuration files are used to provide parameters for the ATMworks 350 NetWare 3.12/4.x ODI Driver. Sample configuration files are provided in the \novell\srvodi subdirectory. Parameter descriptions and configuration file descriptions are contained in the README.TXT file in the \novell\srvodi subdirectory. The sample files contain example ATM addresses, IP addresses, and some parameters which might not be required for your installation. You must prepare one or more configuration files before installing and loading the driver. This can be done by editing, on a DOS-based or Windows NT system, the sample configuration files contained in the \novell\srvodi subdirectory before you perform the installation. You might want to save the sample files for future reference. Section 2: Disk 2 Organization ------------------------------ The root directory of Disk 2 contains the following files: DGLPB.LDI Installation information file. This is used by the NetWare 4.x installation utility (INSTALL.NLM) to install the ATMworks 350 NetWare 4.x ODI server driver. README.TXT This file. RELNOTES.TXT The release notes file contains information about fixes to previous releases, enhancements to the driver, and known problems. The root directory of Disk 2 contains the following subdirectory: \NOVELL This subdirectory contains no files. It does contain one subdirectory: \SRVODI This subdirectory contains the ATMworks 350 driver for Novell NetWare 3.12, 4.02 and 4.1 server systems and the installation information file used by the install utility. In addition, it contains driver configuration files, and current versions of Novell's Msm.nlm, Msm31x.nlm, and Ethertsm.nlm. It also contains a README.TXT file that explains how to install the driver, the command line parameters, and the configuration files. Section 3: Where to Find Additional Information ------------------------------------------------ Disk 1 contains files that cover subjects such as where to find additional ATM information and a description of the contents of each disk in the ATMworks 350 distribution set. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
