LSI Logic Fusion-MPT (TM) mpt Driver HBA Diskette Building Instructions

This is the guide to create an HBA driver diskette for the the Caldera
UnixWare 7 and Open Unix 8 Operating Systems. Both of these operating
systems will hereafter be referred to as "UnixWare".

To create an mpt HBA diskette for use with UnixWare, you must copy the raw dd
image file onto a 1.44 Mbyte diskette. The process for doing this depends
upon what operating system you are using to create the diskette.

For UNIX System Users

Follow these steps to create the HBA diskette:

1. Insert a 3.5-inch blank diskette into the diskette drive.

    At the UNIX prompt, type:

    dd if=/<path>/unixware.dd of=/dev/fd0

The <path> represents the directory where you copied the dd image file.

2. The dd image file is found in the zipped file that you downloaded from
   the LSI Logic web site.

This command will dd the image to the blank diskette to create an HBA
   diskette.

After the image has been copied to a 3.5 diskette, use this HBA
diskette for UnixWare installations as instructed.

For DOS System Users

1. Use a utility that will copy the raw dd image onto a 1.44 Mbyte diskette.
RAWRITE3.COM, which is a public domain utility, is available. Instructions
for using this utility are included in its accompanying RAWRITE3.DOC file.

2. The dd image is located in the zipped file you downloaded from the LSI
   Logic web site.

3. RAWRITE3.COM is included within the zipped file you downloaded from the
   LSI Logic web site.

After the image has been copied to a 3.5 diskette, use this HBA
diskette for UnixWare installations as instructed.
