Version : 3.05
Date : 06/01/1995
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The utilities listed below have been tested by Mylex. They are included separately
because their descriptions are not yet included in the DAC960 Software Kit Manual

The new DACADM monitoring utility offers several new important features:

: Starts Automatically On System Startup (default).

: Starts in minimized(iconized) state, and the display will pop
up in case of an event.

: Logs DAC960 events to Event Viewer.

: If the monitor display window is minimized and an event
occurs, the display window automatically pops up.

: Can be configured to start Automatically (on system start up),
Start On demand (thru Control Panel/Services Applet) or can
                  be disabled.

: The service can be started/stopped any time using Control
                  Panel, Services Applet.

To install the DAC960 Monitoring Utility, copy both DACMON.EXE AND SRVCCFG.EXE from the
floppy to your hard disk, preferebly to a subdirectory in your command path.

To load DACMON:

First, copy both the SRVCCFG.EXE and DACMON.EXE
to the \WINNT35\SYSTEM32 subdirectory, for example:

	C:\> copy a:\nt_35\newutils\. c:\winnt35\system32

Next, the "srvccfg.exe" utility must be used to install/deinstall
"dacmon.exe" service. Type the following:

        C:\> srvccfg DacMon dac960monitor \winnt35\system32\dacmon.exe

Finally, reboot the system. The monitor will load on bootup.

To remove this or any utility using the srvvfg:

               Usage : To Remove
                -----------------
                srvccfg <Service Name> remove

                Example:
                -------
                srvccfg DacMon remove

Error Conditions:

Windows NT Service Control Manager may display the following
error message, on an attempt to start the service.

The <Service Label> service returned service specific error 1.

Cause : The service did not find any DAC960 controllers in the
system. This could happen, if the system is not equipped
with DAC960 controllers OR the DAC960 driver failed to
                        load for some reason.
