They are included separately because their descriptions are not yet included in the DAC960 Software Kit Manual The new DACADM monitoring utility offers several new important features: : Starts Automatically On System Startup (default). : Starts in minimized(iconized) state, and the display will pop up in case of an event. : Logs DAC960 events to Event Viewer. : If the monitor display window is minimized and an event occurs, the display window automatically pops up. : Can be configured to start Automatically (on system start up), Start On demand (thru Control Panel/Services Applet) or can be disabled. : The service can be started/stopped any time using Control Panel, Services Applet. To install the DAC960 Monitoring Utility, copy both DACMON.EXE AND SRVCCFG.EXE from the floppy to your hard disk, preferebly to a subdirectory in your command path. To load DACMON: First, copy both the SRVCCFG.EXE and DACMON.EXE to the \WINNT35\SYSTEM32 subdirectory, for example: C:\> copy a:\nt_35\newutils\. c:\winnt35\system32 Next, the "srvccfg.exe" utility must be used to install/deinstall "dacmon.exe" service. Type the following: C:\> srvccfg DacMon dac960monitor \winnt35\system32\dacmon.exe Finally, reboot the system. The monitor will load on bootup. To remove this or any utility using the srvvfg: Usage : To Remove ----------------- srvccfg <Service Name> remove Example: ------- srvccfg DacMon remove Error Conditions: Windows NT Service Control Manager may display the following error message, on an attempt to start the service. The <Service Label> service returned service specific error 1. Cause : The service did not find any DAC960 controllers in the system. This could happen, if the system is not equipped with DAC960 controllers OR the DAC960 driver failed to load for some reason.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
