*Mylex HBA - FlashPoint RAID Plus (32k) SCSI Host Adapters only*

Following are the procedures to use FLASH.EXE ROM upload utility.

Instructions for MS-DOS:

 1. Boot up your system with only the HIMEM.SYS driver loaded in CONFIG.SYS.
It is recommended to NOT load an AUTOEXEC.BAT for this procedure.

Note: This program works with MS-DOS 6.2x with the appropriate version
of HIMEM.SYS. The time of the file should match the version of
           DOS (i.e. DOS 6.22 will use a HIMEM.SYS created 6:22 am).
Make sure that no other environment variables or TSRs are loading.

 2. Locate & change to directory/drive where the flash utility & ROM files
    reside.
 3. Type FLASH to execute Flash utility.
 4. When prompted for, enter the filename (FP202n32.ROM) to be uploaded and
answer yes to the preceding question. Be sure that the "y" is lower case.

Instructions for Windows 95:

 Booting from Hard Disk:

 1. Temporarily rename the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files to CONFIG.BAK and
AUTOEXEC.BAK to ensure that they will not load during boot.
 2. Reboot the machine and press F8 when the system prompts "Starting Windows
95" and select "Command prompt only." HIMEM.SYS will automatically load.
 3. Follow step numbers 2 though 4 of the DOS installation to flash the ROM.
 4. Rename the CONFIG.BAK and AUTOEXEC.BAK to CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT and
    reboot the system.

 Booting from Floppy:

 1. Create a boot diskette in Windows 95.
 2. Copy the MSDOS.SYS from the root of the boot drive to the floppy. If this
is done from the command prompt, type "ATTRIB -r -s -h MSDOS.SYS" at the
"A" prompt to remove the read only, system, and hidden attributes of that
file. To copy the file from within Windows 95 Explorer, go into the View
menu and select Options. Select "Show all files." Drag and drop the
MSDOS.SYS file to the floppy and have it overwrite.
 3. Copy HIMEM.SYS to the floppy and copy the FLASH.EXE and FP202n32.ROM to
    the diskette.
 4. Create a CONFIG.SYS on the bootable diskette and load HIMEM.SYS.
    DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS.
 5. Boot from the diskette and follow steps 3 and 4 of the MS-DOS
    instructions.
