2.1 Before installing the driver

2.3 Using the Printer in a Network Environment
The KX-P6500/P6300/P6100 software installation will create the followings.
- Printer driver for Windows XP
- Panasonic Printer Console for Windows XP
Notes:
When you reinstalling the KX-P6500/P6300/P6100 software, please do
it just after restarting Windows.

Before installing the driver, please uninstall the previous version
as follows.
1. Click "Start", move the pointer to All Programs, then to Panasonic
KX-P6X00 Tools.
2. Click "Uninstall Utility".
3. Click "Yes".
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the uninstallation.
5. Restart Windows.

Notes:
- Although the KX-P6500 PCL printer driver will be installed by the Plug-
and-Play, please install the KX-P6500 GDI printer driver to use the
printer as a GDI printer after installing the PCL driver.
- The feature of "Plug-and-Play" and "Add Printer" is not supported.
The printer driver may be not installed correctly by these features.
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Start Windows XP.
3. Quit all applications.
4. Click "Start", click "Run...".
The Run window is displayed.
5. Click "Browse..." then select the "WinXP" directory you made for KX-P6X00
GDI Driver and Utilities.
( Example; C:\P6000\WinXP )
6. Select Setup.exe ,and click "Open".
7. Click "OK"
The Installer starts.
8. Click "Next>".
The Setup Type window is displayed.
9. Click the type of setup, then click "Next>".
The Select Program Folder window is displayed.
10. Click "Next>".
11. Click "Next>".
The Select Printer Model window is displayed.
12. Click your Printer Model, then click "Next>".
The Select Printer Port window is displayed.
13. Select the connected port and click "Next" button.
14. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
After the installation, restart your system.

For the server computer:
To share the printer with other clients on the network, perform the following
steps after installing the printer driver.
1. Click "Start", move the pointer to "Control Panel".
2. Click "Printers and other Hardware".
3. Click "Printers and Faxes".
4. Select the Panasonic KX-P6500/P6300/P6100 printer.
5. Click File menu, then click Sharing....
5. Click "Share this printer".
6. Enter the shared name.
(Example: KX-P6500).
7. Click "OK".

* 3.Restriction in using the KX-P6500/P6300/P6100 on Windows XP *
* *
**********************************************************************
1. It may fail printing in case the Parallel setting in BIOS is set
to ECP mode. In this case, please change Parallel setting in
BIOS to Bi-Directional mode(not ECP mode) before using the
@@printer.
2. Because it may not be able to print correctly just after turning
the power on, please wait until the printer becomes ready status.
3. When you print to KX-P6500/P6300/P6100,
please logon as Administrator or Power Users.
If you can not understand the above description well, please ask Panasonic.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
