This README file contains the following information when installing 
the printer driver in your computer.
Please carefully read it before operating.

*1  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 95 operating system (hereafter Windows 95)
*2  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 98 operating system (hereafter Windows 98)
*3  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Millennium Edition operating system (hereafter Windows Me)
*4  Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) operating system Version 4.0 (hereafter Windows NT 4.0)
*5  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 operating system (hereafter Windows 2000)
*6  Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP operating system (hereafter Windows XP)

1.  Installing the printer driver

[A] When using the parallel cable :

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Connect the computer to the printer with a parallel cable. 
3. Start Microsoft(R) Windows(R) operating system and quit all applications.
4. KX-P7105 / KX-P7110 printer driver is already installed on this PC.
   Before installing a new printer driver, you must first delete the 
   printer driver already installed on this PC. 
5. Restart Windows.
6. Double click C:\P7105\Disk1\setup.exe
7. Click the desired software on the screen to install.
8. Follow the instructions on the screen.
9.Turn the printer on.
   -> For Windows XP : 
      If "Found New Hardware wizard" window is displayed, 
      perform steps [B]-7(for Windows XP) shown below.


[B] When using the USB cable (for Windows 98 / Windows Me / Windows 2000 / Windows XP ) :
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Connect the computer to the printer with a USB cable. 
3. Start Microsoft(R) Windows(R) operating system and quit all applications.
4. KX-P7105 / KX-P7110 printer driver is already installed on this PC.
   Before installing a new printer driver, you must first delete the 
   printer driver already installed on this PC. 
5. Restart Windows.
6.Turn the printer on.
  The wizard window appears.

  -> For Windows 98
     (1)Click "Next>".
     (2)Click on the "Search for the best driver for your device" check button 
        and click "Next>".
     (3)Click on the "Specify a location" check box.
     (4)Click "Browse..." and select Win98 folder [C:\P7105\Usb\Win98]. Click "OK".
     (5)Click "Next>".
     (6)Click "Next>", then click "Finish".
     (7)Repeat the step (1) - (3).
     (8)Click "Browse..." and select PCL folder [C:\P7105\Win9x\PCL]. 
        Click "OK".
     (9)Click "Next>" twice.
     (10)Follow the instructions on the screen.

  -> For Windows Me
     (1)Click on the "Specify the location of the driver" check button 
        and click "Next>".
     (2)Click on the "Specify a location" check box and click "Browse...".
     (3)Select PCL folder [C:\P7105\WinMe\PCL]. Click "OK".
     (4)Click "Next>" twice.
     (5)Follow the instructions on the screen.

  -> For Windows 2000
     (1)Click "Next>".
     (2)Click on the "Search for a suitable driver for my device" check button 
        and click "Next>".
     (3)Confirm the "Specify a location" is checked and click "Next>".
     (4)Click "Browse..." and select PCL folder [C:\P7105\Win2000\PCL]. 
        Click "Open". Click "OK".
     (5)Click "Next>", then click "Yes".
     (6)Click "Finish".

  -> For Windows XP
     (1)Click on the "Install from a list or specific location" and click "Next>".
     (2)Click on the "Include this location in the search".
     (3)Click "Browse" and select the following folder, then click "OK".
	[C:\P7105\Win2000\PCL].
         * Printer Driver for Windows 2000 can be used for Windows XP.
     (4)Click "Next>".
     (5)Click "Next>".
         * A caution message that printer hasn't passed Windows Logo test appear,
           but you can continue the installation with no problem.
     (6)Click "Continue Anyway", then click "Finish".

8. Install utilities software.
   (1)Double click C:\P7105\Disk1\setup.exe
   (2)Follow the instructions on the screen.
      * When selecting the printer port, cick on the "Install USB port by Plug and Play" 
        check button.


[C]Notes when installing the printer driver for PostScript in Windows(R) (for KX-PPSU5)
  • When using the parallel interface: note when performing the step [A]-8.
  • When using the USB interface: note when performing the step [B]-8-(2).

1. When the printer driver and utility are already installed in your computer, 
   click on the "Modify" check button in the Welcome window of InstallShield Wizard.
2. Click on the "Upgrade kit (for PostScript)" check box when selecting the installed 
   options in the Select installed options window.
3. Perform the following when selecting the model of your printer in the 
   Add Printer Wizard window.
   (1) Click Have "Disk...".
   (2) Click "Browse..." and select Ps folder [C:\P7105\Win9x(*1)\PS].
     (*1)Select Winnt, Win2000 or WinME in place of Win9x depending on your operating system.
4. When the screen prompts to insert the CD-ROM for Windows, designate the Cabs folder
   [C: (drive for OS) \ Windows (folder for OS) \ Options \ Cabs].
