AP Notes:

1. LinDVD
1) If LinDVD show the following error message
"./lindvd: error while loading shared libraries: libXv.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory"
a) Please install package XFree86-compat-libs-4.X.X-X from related distribution
CD-ROMs.
b) RedHat 9.0
Please install package XFree86-libs-4.3.0-2 from RedHat 9.0 distribution CD-ROM No.1.
2) If LinDVD show the following error message
"./lindvd: error while loading shared libraries: libqt.so.2: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory"
a) SuSE 8.1
Please install package qt-2.3.2-286 from SuSE 8.1 distribution CD-ROMs;
b) RedHat 7.3
Please install package qt2-2.3.1-3 from RedHat 7.3 distribution CD-ROMs;
c) RedHat 8.0
Please install package qt2-2.3.1-8 from RedHat 8.0 distribution CD-ROMs.
d) RedHat 9.0
Please install package qt2-2.3.1-13 from RedHat 9.0 distribution CD-ROMs.
e) Mandrake 8.2
Please install package libqt2-2.3.1-29mdk.i586.rpm got from web site http://rpm.pbone.net.
f) Mandrake 9.0
Please install package libqt2-2.3.1-29mdk.i586.rpm got from web site http://rpm.pbone.net.
g) Mandrake 9.1
Please install package libqt2-2.3.1-29mdk.i586.rpm got from web site http://rpm.pbone.net.
2. XawTV
1) If you compile Xawtv & encounter the following error in Mandrake 8.2 distribution
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXpm
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [console/v4l-conf] Error 1
Please copy libXpm.a in /usr/X11R6/lib of RedHat to Mandrake system.
Coz libXpm.a doesn't exist in the Mandrake distribution.
2) How to run xawtv capture via Xv path:
a) run
# xawtv -hwscan
you can get a list of available devices.

This is xawtv-3.74, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.18-3)

b) according the port number,
to show image of capture 0(TV0), run
# xawtv -xvport 54
to show image of capture 1(TV1), run

Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
