Steps to install Creative Plug n Play Sound Card on Windows NT 4.0
==================================================================

WARNING : Please remove all previously installed legacy driver or PnP 
	  driver before you install.

1. Unzip the zip file into a floppy disk and insert the disk into the
   floppy drive (<Floppy_Drive>).

2. Make sure you have the NT4.0 CD in the CDROM drive (<CDROM_Drive>) to
   install the game port.

3. If you have already installed the pnpisa.sys driver please go to step 6.

4. In <CDROM_Drive>\drvlib\pnpisa\<processor_architecture> right click on
   pnpisa.inf and select Install.  

(if you don't see this file, click View \ Options \ View \   and select "Show
all Files" and unselect "Hide extensions for known file types".)

5. Reboot when prompted.

6. Log onto your computer with Administrator privileges.

7. You will see "New Hardware Found" and then be prompted to install drivers 
   for several functions on your card:

   For Sound Blaster 16 Plug and Play:
   --------------------------------------------------------
   a) Choose "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer"

   b) Enter the path name which contain sbpnp.inf: 
	 <Floppy_Drive>\ 
	
   c) Select OK on the Select Device screen

   d) Next select Manual Configuration.

   e) If there are any conflicting devices at the bottom of the screen, 
      resolve them first by selecting basic configuration 0001, then 
      highlight the offending setting in the Resource Settings window.
      Click on Change Setting, and select a setting that does not conflict 
      with another device.  Select OK when finished.  Repeat for any 
      settings that show a conflict.

   For Creative Advanced Wave Effects Synthesis for AWE 32:
   --------------------------------------------------------
   a) Choose "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer"

   b) Enter the path name which contain sbpnp.inf: 
	 <Floppy_Drive>\ 
	
   c) Select OK on the Select Device screen

   d) Next select Manual Configuration.

   e) If there are any conflicting devices at the bottom of the screen, 
      resolve them first by selecting basic configuration 0001, then 
      highlight the offending setting in the Resource Settings window.
      Click on Change Setting, and select a setting that does not conflict 
      with another device.  Select OK when finished.  Repeat for any 
      settings that show a conflict.


   For Creative 3D Stereo Enhancement Technology:
   ----------------------------------------------
   Select "Windows NT default driver".

   For IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Standard IDE/ESDI Hard Disk Controller:
   ------------------------------------------------------------------
   Select "Do not install a driver (Windows NT will not prompt you again)".

   For game port:
   --------------
   Repeat step (a) to (e) but enter the following path name:

      <CDROM_Drive>\drvlib\audio\sbpnp\<processor_architecture>


8. Reboot your machine when prompted.

9. Your Sound Blaster card should be working properly at this point.  If you
   need to change the resources that your card is using, open the Multimedia
   Control Panel applet, select the "Devices" tab, select "Properties" for
   the Sound Blaster driver, and click on the "Settings" button.  This will
   bring up the same resource picking dialog that was invoked when installing
   the device.


Known issues
============
- If you are having problems settings up your Sound Blaster PnP card and you 
  have a PnP BIOS on your machine, you may have to enable it in the CMOS 
  settings.  Consult your machine's manual or the manufacturer to get 
  information on enabling your PnP BIOS.

- Only a single installed Sound Blaster audio card is supported.

- If a previous non-PnP audio driver is installed, remove your old 
  Sound Blaster driver using the Multimedia Control Panel and reboot before 
  responding to new PnPISA configuration dialogs.  Removal of the Sound 
  Blaster device is accomplished through the Device property sheet in the 
  Multimedia Control Panel.
