3Com Corporation EtherDisk Diskette for the EtherLink/MC Adapters SNMP Manageable Drivers The NetWare client drivers on the EtherDisk diskette contain built-in manageability. In combination with the 3Com LinkWatch software (available separately), the NetWare server, and the manageable driver, the EtherLink/MC adapter can be managed on any SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) management system. LinkWatch software reports Ethernet statistics, PC and adapter parameters, software configuration, and user- defined information. Adapters can also be turned on and off from the remote SNMP management system. LinkWatch software includes manageable versions of server drivers. NDIS manageable driver agents (DME.DOS and DME.OS2) are available on LinkWatch software or through Ask3Com and CardBoard. These agents work together with the NDIS drivers included on the EtherDisk diskette. For networks without an SNMP management console or a NetWare 386 server, LinkWatch software provides a monitoring utility (called LinkWatch Monitor). This utility prints a report or displays the status of manageable PC links, reports Ethernet statistics, and creates utilization and error graphs. LinkWatch software and its manageable drivers can be used together to troubleshoot network problems, determine performance, inventory system resources, and balance loads on the network. Adapter manageability operates in either coax or twisted-pair networks regardless of the presence of a manageable hub. Purchase information about LinkWatch software is available in the U.S. and Canada from your local 3Com representative. (%VER SNMP Manageable Drivers v3.4b)Download Driver Pack
