INTRODUCTION
------------
The following files are contained in this directory:

 README.txt - This file
 elSESP.inf - Windows Device Driver for Adaptec Enclosure Services devices
 elSESP.cat - Digital Signature for this device driver

INSTALLATION
------------
1. Attach the required subsystem to a Windows system

2. Boot the system and log in (with Administrator privileges)

3. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" should launch for each Enclosure Services
   Processor detected in each attached subsystem. For each of these, perform
   the following steps:
    a. Click "Next"
    b. Select "Search for a suitable driver ..." and click "Next"
    c. Choose the appropriate location selection option and click "Next"
       to allow the system to locate a suitable driver. Windows should
       report that it detected a suitable driver.
    d. Click "Next" to install this driver.
    e. Click "Finish" to complete the driver installation.

4. Launch the Device Manager (Control Panel, System, Hardware) to verify
   that the driver has been correctly loaded. It should appear under the
   "System devices" section as an "Enclosure Services Device".

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
