Installing the Epson LQ-570 printer driver for WordPerfect 5.1 & 5.2.

To install the printer driver from a floppy disk, do the following from
within WordPerfect:

1.   Press Print (Shift-F7) to display the Print menu.

2.   Choose Select Printer (s) to display the list of current printer
     selections.

3.   Choose Additional Printers (2) which displays a list of printers
     currently located in the Printer Files directory (refer to
     Setup:Location of Files for information on the Printer Files
     directory).

4.   Choose Other Disk (2) to specify another disk from which printer
     files will be selected.

5.   Type the letter of the disk drive which contains the new .ALL file,
     followed by a colon, then press Enter (example: a:<Enter>).

6.   Highlight the Epson LQ-570 printer and press Enter or choose Select
     (1) to select the Epson LQ-570.

7.   The name EPLQ570.PRS should appear as the default name for the .PRS
     file to be created.  You can accept this name by pressing Enter or
     specify another name and then press Enter.

8.   As the .PRS file is created, the Printer Helps and Hints screen is
     displayed along with a message indicating that fonts are being
     updated/added to the .PRS file.

9.   After reading the Printer Helps and Hints, press Exit (F7) to exit
     the help screen and continue to the Select Printer:Edit menu.  Here
     you can set specific options about the printer (see the reference
     section in your manual under the heading Printer, Edit for more
     information).

10.  Press Exit (F7) to return to the Select Printer menu.  You may now
     press Select (1) to specify the printer as your default printer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
