           PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                            for Windows NT V4.0


  Getting Started
  ---------------

   1. Start your Windows NT 4.0 PC normally and inserting the network
      adapter into your computer.

   2. Open "My Computer" -> "Control Panel" -> "Networks" icons.

   3. Select "Add adapter" -> "Have disk" items.
      Type the following (assume the driver is located at A:\)

            A:\

      Select the "PCI Fast Ethernet...".

   4. Windows NT 4.0 will copy the driver files from the driver disk.
      It also will pop up the configuration window, you can assign the
      "Connection Type" here.

   5. After finishing file copy, Windows NT 4.0 will ask you to
      reboot the PC. Select YES.

   6. Restart the computer.


    Driver keywords:
    ----------------

      Open "My Computer" -> "Control Pannel" -> "Network" ->
      Double click "PCI Fast Ethernet...", Select "Advanced" item.

      Click on the "Connection Type" property selection.

      The "Value" windows will show the following selections:

      Auto-Negotiation     : The driver will auto-detect the media that
                             is connecting to the adapter. (default)
      100BaseTX Half_duplex: The driver will force the media to
                             100BaseTx half duplex mode.
      100BaseTX Full_duplex: The driver will force the media to
                             100BaseTx full duplex mode.
      10BaseT Half_duplex  : The driver will force the media to
                             10BaseT half duplex mode.
      10BaseT Full_duplex  : The driver will force the media to
                             10BaseT full duplex mode.

      Choose the appropriate setting as needed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
