    - Prepared bootable diskette in Drive B. Then, copy the appropriate

    - Create a CONFIG.SYS file with the following statements:

        DEVICE=PROTMAN.DOS /I:A:\
        DEVICE=FETPCI.DOS

      NOTE: A:\ is the path where Banyan VINES workstation files reside.

    - Create a FETPCI.NIF file containing the following statements:

        Model = PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter
        Path = A:\
        DeviceDriver = FETPCI.DOS
        DeviceName = FETPCI$
        Type = NDIS

      NOTE: A:\ is the path where Banyan VINES workstation files reside.

    - Create a PROTOCOL.INI file with the following lines:

        [PROTOCOL MANAGER]
        drivername = PROTMAN$

        [VINES_XIF]
        drivername = NDISBAN$
        bindings = "FETPCI"

        [FETPCI]
        drivername = FETPCI$

    - Execute the 'PCCONFIG' command.

      A "CONFIGURING A PC FOR THE NETWORK" message appears on the
      screen. The program then provides some options you can select.

    - Select "1 - Network Card Settings".

      Another screen appears for selecting some options.

    - Select "NDIS Ethernet".

    - Select the appropriate configuration of the adapter.

    - After configuring the adapter, you return to the main screen.

    - From the next screen, select "NDIS Ethernet".
