How to upgrade your BIOS.txt Driver File Contents (Q500A_3a32_BIOS.zip)

How to upgrade a BIOS with a CD

To upgrade a BIOS without using a Floppy disk drive you need to use two cds.

The first is a clean bootable CD. You may store this CD after use for BIOS upgrades on other models that do not have boot CDs.
The easiest way to make a clean bootable CD is to download an image of a boot CD and then burn the image on to a CD.
We have both an ISO image and a NRG (nero image) available at ftp://12.161.238.136/Tools/BootableCD/.

On the second CD you will need to extract the BIOS files.

Next boot the computer and press the Key to enter the System Setup, (most cases it is F2).
Change the Boot sequence to choose the CD then the Hard Disk Drive.
Insert the Boot CD then choose Save Changes and exit.

Press any key to boot from CD.
Make sure the AC Adapter is connected.
At the DOS prompt remove the Boot CD and insert the BIOS CD.
Wait for it to spin then type the "dir" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
The screen will display the name of the files on the CD.
Look for, then type the name that ends in bat then press Enter.
Most models it will be named BIOS.BAT
Different models might be named differently.
This will start the installation; do not shut off the computers while this is running.

When it is finished it will either, reboot, leave you at the dos prompt, or inform you that the BIOS upgrade has gone successfully.

You can then shut off the computer and restart it. If it restarted by itself then let it go into Windows and proceed to use it normally.
