Windows '95 MPIIX device driver

Cosmetic Problem:
Win ‘95 installs the 82430MX (MPIIX) in:
"Control Panel -> Device Manager -> ? Other devices"
as a "? PCI Bridge". 

Solution:
Using Intel 82430MX device driver, properly relocate and rename the 82430MX (MPIIX) as:
"Control Panel-> Device Manager -> System Devices" 
as a "Intel 82430MX I/O Controller"

Installation Procedure:

1. Copy the file OEMSETUP.INF to a floppy disk
2. Install Win '95
3. open "My Computer"
4. open "Control Panel"
5. open "System"
6. select "Device Manager"
7. open "?  Other devices"
8. open "? PCI Bridge"
9. select "Driver"
10. select "Change Driver"
11. select "OK"
12. select "Have Disk"
13. insert the floppy disk containing the driver into drive A
14. select "OK"
15. select "OK"
16. select "OK"
17. select "OK"

The file OEMX.inf is created by windows in the WINDOWS\INF directory.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
