Readme.txt Driver File Contents (R25.zip)

Update sequence:
BIOS => SLP => HSC => BMC => FRUSDR
Follow the following steps to update SDR, BMC, HSC and BIOS:
1. Update SDR (If applicable) - note that this step can only be performed
     first if there is already an active BMC image on the system.
2. Update BMC (See Important Installation Notes below)
3. Update HSC (If applicable).
4. BIOS update (If applicable).

Procedures to update with BIOS:
1. Boot the system to EFI Shell.
2. Unzip and copy IFlash32.efi and BIOS update file in R920R25.zip to a diskette ,HDD or USB Flash Drive.
3. change the shell to mapped device file system.
	   Example: shell > fs0: (or fs1:)
4.Run the script file update BIOS on the prompt.
                   fs0:\> ACERBIOS.nsh
5. Once the update completes, reboot the system.
6. Enter Setup by pressing the F2 key during boot up.  Once in Setup, press the F9 to set the parameters back to default values. 
    Press F10 to save and exit.

Procedures to update with HSC f/w:
1. Unzip the release package (HSC2_08.zip)  and copy the contents onto a storage media, such as a USB memory device.
2. Boot the system to EFI and change directories to mapped device file system 
	   Example: shell > fs0: (or fs1:)
3. Run the update script.
                   fs0:\> HSCUpdate.nsh
4. Once completed, power the system off, remove and reapply power to the 
system, and reboot the system.

Procedures to update with BMC f/w:
1. Unzip the release package (BMC18.zip)  and copy the contents onto a storage media, such as a USB memory device.
2. Boot the system to EFI and change directories to mapped device file system 
	   Example: shell > fs0: (or fs1:)
3. Run the update script.
                   fs0:\> AUTOEXEC.nsh
4. Once completed, power the system off, remove and reapply power to the 
system, and reboot the system.

Procedures to update with FRU/SDR firmware:
1. Boot the system to EFI Shell
2. Unzip and copy the update file in FRUSDR14 to a diskette, HDD or USB Flash Drive
3. change the shell to mapped device file system 
	   Example: shell > fs0: (or fs1:)
4.Run the script file update BIOS on the prompt
                   fs0:\> AUTOEXEC.nsh
5. Once completed, power the system off, remove and reapply power to the 
system, and reboot the system.

P.s. 
Pls follow procedures below to enter EFI Shell.
1. Enter BIOS Setup by entering F2 during POST.
2. Select Boot Manager.
3. Select EFI Shell and press ENTER.
Now, Altos R720 will boot into EFI Shell.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
