WINDOWS VISTA INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Remove any previously installed Zoom PCI modem drivers:
 a.) Click the Start button and then Control Panel.
 b.) Under Programs, click Uninstall a program (or, if you are in Classic view, double-click on Programs and Features.)
 c.) Select the Zoom V90 PCI Faxmodem and click Uninstall.
 d.) When the uninstallation is complete, click Finish.
 e.) If the Phone and Modem Options control panel appears, click Cancel. 

2. Shut down your computer and install the modem hardware if you have not done so (refer to the modem manual if necessary). Otherwise, restart your computer.  

3. If the Found New Hardware wizard appears, select "Don't show this message again for this device." (Note: If this window is minimized, click the Found New Hardware button in the taskbar to restore it.)

4. Click the Start button and then Control Panel.

5. Click System and Maintenance and then System (or double-click on System, if you are in Classic view).

6. Under Tasks (left-hand column), click Device Manager.

7. Right-click on Actiontec V90 PCI Modem and select Update Driver Software.

8. Select "Browse my computer for driver software."

9. Select "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer." 

10. Click Have Disk.

11. Click Browse, navigate to the Zoom2920_Setup folder, and click Open.

12. Select the Zoom_pci.inf file and click Open.

13. Click OK, to the close the Install From Disk dialog box.

14. Click Next.

15. If a Windows Security dialog box appears, select "Install this driver software anyway."

16. When the installation is finished, click Close.  

17. To confirm the installation:
 a.) Click the Start button, then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound (or Phone and Modem Options, if you are in classic view).
 b.) Click Phone and Modem Options and then the Modems tab. 
 c.) Select the Zoom modem and click Properties, then Diagnostics.
 d.) Click the Query Modem button. 
 e.) You should see a list of Commands and Responses. Scroll down to ATI3 and check that the response includes "Zoom." 

Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zoom V.90 PCI Plus faxmodem.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
