** This driver is for Windows Vista 32-bit systems only. **


INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. You must remove any previously installed Zoom USB modem drivers:
 a.) Click the Start button and then Control Panel.
 b.) Under Programs, click Uninstall a program (or, if you are in Classic view, double-click on Programs and Features). 
 c.) Select the Zoom USB modem and click Uninstall.
 d.) When the uninstallation is complete, click Finish.
 e.) If the Phone and Modem Options control panel appears, select the Zoom USB modem and click Remove. Otherwise, click Cancel. 

2. Shut down and turn off your computer.

3. Plug the modem into an available USB port on your computer.  

4. Turn your computer back on.

5. If the Found New Hardware wizard appears, select "Don't show this message again for this device." (Note: If this window is minimized, click the Found New Hardware button in the taskbar to restore it.)

6. Click the Start button and then Control Panel.

7. Click System and Maintenance and then System (or double-click on System, if you are in Classic view).

8. Under Tasks (left-hand column), click Device Manager.

9. Right-click on Zoom USB ACF, which should be listed under the Other devices category.

10. Select Update Driver Software.

11. Select "Browse my computer for driver software."

12. Click Browse, select the Zoom_2985_Vista folder, and click OK. Then click Next.

13. If a Windows Security dialog box appears, select "Install this driver software anyway."

14. When the driver installation/update is complete, click Close.

15. To confirm the installation:
 a.) Click the Start button, then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound (or Phone and Modem Options, if you are in classic view).
 b.) Click Phone and Modem Options and then the Modems tab. 
 c.) Select the Zoom modem and click Properties, then Diagnostics.
 d.) Click the Query Modem button. 
 e.) You should see a list of Commands and Responses. Scroll down to ATI3 and check that the response includes "Zoom."  

Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zoom V.90 USB modem.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
