Read Me - Driver Update v7.12.05 for Zoom V.92 USB Model 3090A
	  Windows XP/2003 Server

This Driver Update (driver version 7.12.05) is only for use with the Zoom V.92 USB Model 3090A, or Model 3090 with an "A" in the serial number.  The serial number uses the format xxxx-(Z)xxxx-xx-xxA-xxxx and can be found under the barcode on the bottom label of the modem.  

Supported operating systems: Windows XP and 2003 Server.  



INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. The USB modem should be unplugged from your computer.  WARNING: If the computer is on, double-click the Safely Remove Hardware taskbar icon and stop the modem before you unplug it.

2. Uninstall any previously installed Zoom USB Modem drivers and NetWaiting applications.  This can be done via Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.  

3. Restart your computer. 

4. Open the "Zoom V.92 USB 3090A v7.12.05" folder and double-click Setup.exe to launch the driver InstallShield Wizard.  Follow the on-screen prompts. 

You may see a disclaimer box regarding Windows Logo testing.  You can safely ignore this message and click Continue Anyway.

5. Restart your computer and then plug in the USB modem.

6. The New Hardware Windows appears.  Do not install any disks. 
Select "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click Next.  

The driver is now installed.  If you will be using the Modem-on-Hold feature, you must download and install NetWaiting version 2.55 or later, available from the Model 3090/3090A support page at:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
