03/02/07 3090A/AF v7.62.00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Read Me - Zoom V.92 USB Model 3090A/3090AF Windows Vista Driver Version 7.62.00 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (To properly view this document, select Word Wrap from the Format or Edit menu and adjust the length if necessary.) ** This setup is for Windows Vista 64-bit systems only. ** INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. The USB modem should be unplugged from your computer. WARNING: If your computer is on, double-click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the notification area (system tray) and stop the modem before you unplug it. 2. Remove any previously installed Zoom USB modem drivers: a.) Click the Start button, then Control Panel, then Programs and Features. b.) Select the Zoom V92 USB Faxmodem and click Uninstall. c.) When the uninstallation is complete, click Finish. d.) If the Phone and Modem Options control panel appears, select Zoom V92 USB Faxmodem and click Remove. Otherwise, click Cancel. 3. Shut down and restart your computer. 4. Plug the modem into your computer. 5. If the Found New Hardware wizard appears, select "Don't show this message again for this device." (Note: If this window is minimized, click the Found New Hardware button in the taskbar to restore it.) 6. Open the Setup64 folder, which is inside the Zoom_V92USB_Setup folder, and double-click on the Setup64 application icon. 7. After the Device Driver Installation Wizard initializes, click Next to continue the installation. 8. When the installation is complete, click OK. 9. To confirm the installation: a.) Click the Start button, then Control Panel, then Hardware and Sound (or Phone and Modem Options, if you are in classic view). b.) Click Phone and Modem Options. c.) Select the Zoom modem and click Properties, then Diagnostics. d.) Click the Query Modem button. e.) You should see a list of Commands and Responses. Scroll down to ATI3 and check that the response includes "V7.62.00." Congratulations! You have successfully installed your Zoom V.92 USB modem. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
