Drivers Software Release for IBM System x iSCSI Server Adapters version 5.0 (3/19/2008) ================================================================================== This is the v5.0 drivers software release for IBM iSCSI Server Adapters for IBM eServer System x modular systems. This software release supports the following System x adapters: Option 39Y6146: QLogic iSCSI Single Port PCIe HBA for IBM System x (QLogic QLE4060C) Option 42C1770: QLogic iSCSI Dual Port PCIe HBA for IBM System x (QLogic QLE4062C) Option 30R5201: IBM iSCSI Server TX Adapter (QLogic QLA4050C) Option 30R5501: IBM iSCSI Server SX Adapter (QLogic QLA4050) Option 73P3601: IBM iSCSI Server Adapter (QLogic QLA4010C) The adapters are used as iSCSI hardware initiators in IBM eServer System x servers. The iSCSI Target platforms supported include xSeries Total Storage DS300, System x Total Storage DS3300, and System i i5 iSCSI Target solutions. This software release supports Microsoft Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 for both x86/IA32 and x64/AMD64 platforms. The Windows drivers are Microsoft digitally signed. This package does not include Linux drivers software. Instead, a link is provided for end users to download the software from a QLogic support URL created specifically for IBM System x iSCSI adapters. Note that the official 64-bit support for x64/AMD64 is dependent on the iSCSI Target. xSeries Total Storage DS300 and iSeries i5 iSCSI solutions support only 32-bit. System x Total Storage DS3300 supports both 32-bit and 64-bit. Windows 2000 is NOT supported. For any silent install/update setup, please read the Silent Install.txt file. The executable file is self-extracting and can be executed under the Windows operating system. 2.1 Package specific installation instruction This update is packaged as a self-extracting PackageForTheWeb (PFTW) executable file. To use this update your TEMP environment variable must be set to a path with read/write access. You must be logged in as an administrator. The command-line syntax for PackageForTheWeb executable device driver update package is: Package.exe [-s] [-a [-s] | [-x directory] | [-?] ] [-s] This command installs an update silently and does not notify you if your files need to be over written in the %temp% directory. [-a] This command passes all subsequent commands to the install package. [-s] This second -s command installs the update silently and unattended. [-x directory] This command extracts the update files to a directory named directory. The PackageForTheWeb executable extracts itself to subdirectory in the %TEMP% directory. Extracted directories will be relative to that location. Typically you must specify an absolute directory. [-?] This command displays information about the command line switches. The command line swithces -a and -x are unattended. Other command line options such as display help (-?) might require that you to hit any key to continue. If Windows packages are run without any command line options, a GUI is displayed. This GUI offers all of the options that are available using the command line. Note: If extracted to a drive (example: c:\package), the drivers can be installed via Microsoft Windows device manager. Configuration Notes: ==================== The new PCIe 39Y6146 and 42C1770 HBAs support both IPv4 and IPv6. Support for multiple sessions to the same DS3300 target device is supported. 3.0 WEB Sites and Support Phone Number ________________________________________ IBM Support URL: http://www.ibm.com/support/us/ IBM eServer products URL: http://www.ibm.com/products/us/ IBM worldwide support contacts URL: http://www.ibm.com/planetwide IBM drivers software download support URL: http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-57073&brandind=5000008 QLogic drivers software download support URL for Linux sw: http://www.qlogic.com/support/oem_detail_all.asp?oemid=344 QLogic drivers software download support URL: http://www.qlogic.com/support/drivers_software.asp 4.0 Trademarks and Notices ____________________________ The following terms are trademarks of the IBM Corporation in the United States or other countries or both: IBM eserver System x (xSeries) eServer System i (iSeries) Microsoft, Windows, and Windows NT are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.
