2.0 Drivers Software Details
______________________________

(1) Microsoft Windows 2008 Server Support

BACS3 will require .NET to be pre-installed prior to launching
the application. TCP/IP Over Ethernet (TOE) and Receive Side
Scaling (RSS) have been disabled by default on 5709A1 devices.
When hot adding an adapter with BASP6 Jumbo frame is only supported
with all members running the same MTU size. The latest drivers can
    also be downloaded from: http://www.ibm.com/support/us.

(2) The Broadcom VBD architecture supports Windows 2003 and Windows
2008 Server platforms. The software components under "b06bdrv" and
"l2nd" from \W2K are designed to run normal L2 NDIS traffic for
NDIS 5.0. The software components under "b06bdrv" and "l2nd" from
\W2K3_W2K8 and \W2K3_W2K8_64 are designed to run normal L2 NDIS
traffic for NDIS 5.2 and NDIS 6.0. The software components
    under "b06bdrv" and "l4nd" from \W2K3_W2K8 and \W2K3_W2K8_64 are
designed to run normal L4 NDIS traffic for NDIS 5.2 for BCM5706 and
    5708 devices.

(3) This release does not support the "l4nd" driver for System x3850 M2
    and x3950 M2 (BCM5709/BCM5709s) devices only.

3.0 Installation and Configuration
____________________________________

The executable file is self-extracting and can be executed under the Windows
operating system. This file will install the windows device driver.

   3.1 Package specific installation instruction
This update is packaged as a self-extracting PackageForTheWeb (PFTW)
executable file. To use this update your TEMP environment variable
must be set to a path with read/write access. You must be logged in
       as an administrator.

The command-line syntax for PackageForTheWeb executable device driver
       update package is:

       Package.exe [-s] [-a [-s] | [-x directory] | [-?] ]

[-s] This command installs an update silently and does not notify you
if your files need to be over written in the %temp% directory.

[-a] This command passes all subsequent commands to the install
       package.

[-s] This second -s command installs the update silently and
       unattended.

[-x directory] This command extracts the update files to a directory
named directory. The PackageForTheWeb executable extracts itself to
subdirectory in the %TEMP% directory. Extracted directories will be
relative to that location. Typically you must specify an absolute
       directory.

[-?] This command displays information about the command line
switches. The command line swithces -a and -x are unattended. Other
command line options such as display help (-?) might require that you
to hit any key to continue.

If Windows packages are run without any command line options, a GUI is
displayed. This GUI offers all of the options that are available
       using the command line.

Note: If files are extracted to a drive (example: c:\package), drivers can
be installed manually using Windows device manager.
