                refer to section 1.1 above.
e). From the main option menu, select "Update System Management
                Firmware".
f). Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update.

2.1 Updating using the Remote Supervisor Adapter web interface

Note: If using a multi-node configuration, perform the
instructions in this section for each Remote Supervisor Adapter
                in the multi-node configuration.

a). Open a Web browser. In the address or URL field, type
the IP address or host name of the Remote Supervisor
Adapter to which you want to connect. The Enter Network
                Password window opens.

b). Type your user name and password in the Enter Network
Password window. If you are using the IBM Remote Supervisor
Adapter for the first time, you can obtain your user name and
password from your system administrator. All login attempts
are documented in the event log. A welcome page opens in
                your browser.

Note: The Remote Supervisor Adapter is set initially with
a user name of USERID and password of PASSW0RD (with a zero,
not an O). This user has read/write access. Change this
default password during your initial configuration for
                enhanced security.

c). Select a timeout value, in minutes, in the field provided.
If your browser is inactive for that number of minutes, the
Remote Supervisor Adapter logs you off the Web interface.

d). Click Continue to start the session. The browser opens the
System Health page, which gives you a quick view of the system
                status.

e). In the navigation frame, click Firmware Update, then click Browse.
f). Navigate to the PKT file you want to update.

Note: There are seven packet files that can be updated:
It is IMPORTANT that you update the CNETRCUS.PKT (Backup
Application packet) BEFORE you update the CNETMNUS.PKT
                (Main Application packet).
CNETBRUS.PKT Remote Supervisor Adapter Boot ROM
CNETRCUS.PKT Remote Supervisor Adapter Recovery Application
CNETMNUS.PKT Remote Supervisor Adapter Main Application
CNETRGUS.PKT Remote Supervisor Adapter Remote Graphics Application
                  DMCflash.PKT Integrated System Management Processor
IIOEFLSH.PKT Intelligent I/O Expansion Integrated System Management Processor
IIOEFLPB.PKT Intelligent I/O Expansion Power Backplane Controller

Repeat steps 2.1.e through 2.1.k for each packet on this diskette.
The packets should be flashed in the order listed above.
The IIOEFLSH.PKT and IIOEFLPB.PKT packet files can be omitted if
there is no Intelligent I/O Expansion unit attached to the server.
If there is an Intelligent I/O Expansion unit attached to the server,
it must be powered on before flashing the IIOEFLSH.PKT and IIOEFLPB.PKT
                packet files.
If you are updating from version 1.11 (Main Application Build ID VIET46A)
or earlier to this build, you should reset the Remote Supervisor Adapter
after flashing the CNETRCUS.PKT (Remote Supervisor Adapter Recovery
                Application) file.
g). Click Open. The file (including the full path) appears in the box
                beside Browse.
h). To begin the update process, click Update. A progress indicator
opens as the file is transferred to temporary storage on the
Remote Supervisor Adapter. A confirmation page opens when the file
                transfer is completed.
i). Verify that the PKT file shown on the Confirm Firmware Update
page is what you intend to update. If not, click the Cancel button.
j). To complete the update process, click Continue. A progress indicator
opens as the firmware on the Remote Supervisor Adapter is flashed.
A confirmation page opens to verify that the update was successful.
k). Repeat steps 2.1.e through 2.1.k for each packet on this diskette.
l). After receiving a confirmation that the update process is complete,
go to the Restart ASM page and click Restart. Click OK to confirm
that you want to restart the Remote Supervisor Adapter.
m). Click OK to close the current browser window.
n). To log into the Remote Supervisor Adapter again, open your browser
and follow the regular login process.

Note: To cancel this process at any point, click Cancel.

4.0 Unattended mode

This update utility does not support unattended installations
but for advanced users there is a way to use the contents of
this update to perform unattended installations of the code.

        Note:
Using this utility in an unattended mode will unconditionally flash the
server with the firmware from this update. The server will be flashed
regardless of whether the currently installed firmware is older or newer
than the firmware on this update.

a). To perform an unattended installation, copy flash2.efi and all of
the .PKT files from these two diskettes to a single directory on
your drive. Boot the server to DOS and change the directory to the
directory where you have copied these files. If an Intelligent
I/O Expansion Unit is not attached to the server, at the DOS prompt
              type:
                  flash2 /u /c /m /b /d
If an Intelligent I/O Expansion Unit is attached, type
                  flash2 /u /c /m /b /d /e /ep
