1.0 Overview

The 4560_429.exe file is a Microsoft Windows based self-extracting
WinZip executable program that will automatically bring up a menu
of selections to:

1: Update Firmware on the 4560-SLX library and drives
2: Install Library and Tape tools diagnostic
3: Run xTalk diagnostic on SDLT drive
 4: Install LTO drive Diagnostics
 5: SCSI Inquiry
6: Serial Number of tape backup unit
 7: Exit

The file was built to be fully automated and will take effect
immediately upon completion of the tape backup units reset after
the firmware has been applied.

2.0 Change History

4770 - LTO Gen2 firmware update 4770 increases overall reliability,
improves tape handling, further reduces possibility of data
loss/data error, and provides continued enhancements to diagnostic
capabilities.

45DH - Corrected write permanent error reporting to the host during
buffer flush operation.

44CH - Initial LTO Gen2 firmware release

5252 - Initial SDLT firmware release

Modifications added in Release 4.26
Fixed problem where a SCSI command sent to a LUN other than 0
while disconnected and executing a command to LUN 0 would abort the
LUN 0 command, and return Check Condition, Message Error to LUN 1 command.

Modifications added in Release 4.27
Fixed a problem with mail slot not available when the library has
enabled only the lower mail slot in 4560-SLX configuration.
Fixed a WebTLC hang problem

Modifications added in Release 4.28
Fixed to support partition controller in 4560-SLX library: SCSI host
command hang up and reboot during the virtual mail slot accessed.

Modifications added in Release 4.29
Modified the standard SCSI Inquiry response in SCSI-3 mode to include
two additional bytes (56 and 57) that return new negotiation settings
used by Ultra-320 host adapters.
Added support for a 8 or 9 fields format of ls -l for a UNIX server
for remote ftp firmware. This corrects a remote download problem with
some ftp servers.
Modified STOW_PUSH_OFFSET from 100 counts to 200 counts to correct the
problem of the picker sliding off the edge of the cartridge during
inventory.

3.0 Installation and Setup Instructions

This file is a self-extracting WinZip executable file that will self
extract to the systems dedicated temporary directory and run via a
batch file. A self-test and bus reset are performed at the end of the
update and the device will then be again ready for use.

4.0 Configuration Information:

The system must recognize that the device is available to the
operating system to run either the firmware update or diagnostics.
If the hardware cannot be found in Device Manger then the
application layer utilized will not be able to perform its operations.
