The SDR Viewer Utility is an EFI application program used for viewing 
IPMI 1.0 Sensor Data Records (SDR) stored on the server management storage
device of the eServer xSeries 380 systems.

A. CHANGES SINCE PREVIOUS VERSION

   First major version.
   
B. DEPENDENCIES

   1. Executes under the EFI Shell ver 0.99 or greater.
   2. SDR.INI, SDRenus.str and SDRenus.hlp files are required.

C. HOW TO USE THIS UTILITY

   1. Boot to EFI shell.
   2. Copy the following files to LS120 diskette or HD: 
        a. SDRView.EFI
        b. IPMI.EFI
        c. SDRenus.STR
        d. SDRenus.HLP 
        e. SDR.INI

   3. Load the IPMI driver as follows

             load ipmi.efi

   4. Run the SDR Viewer utility by typing 'SDRView' on the command line. 

      Use the arrow keys to browse through the menu and press the <Enter>
      key to select.  A brief description of the selected menu item is
      displayed in the Tip-View window.

   1. SDR Viewer can be executed in any text mode, but it is best viewed in text 
      mode 80x25. Text modes can be changed in EFI by using the command "mode", 
      for example:

        mode 80 25
        mode 80 50

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
