               Broadcom NetXtreme II SCO OpenServer Release 5 Driver


Introduction
============

This file describes the SCO OpenServer Release 5 driver for the
Broadcom NetXtremeII series of 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps Ethernet Network
Interface Controllers.


Driver Software Package
=======================

This driver is released as a media image file containing the driver
package.  This media image file can be copied to the target machine
directly for installation, or a floppy installation disk can be made.


Creating a floppy installation disk
===================================

1. Copy the VOL.000.000 file to an SCO system.
2. Create the floppy by running the following command:

   'dd if=VOL.000.000 of=/dev/fd0'


Installing the driver
=====================

Use the custom or scoadmin software to install the driver from the
media image or from the floppy created above.  After the package is
installed, use the netconfig or scoadmin software to configure a
Broadcom NetXtremeII device into the system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
